Hello everyone. Just a little update for you all, so glad you like my last one-shot which I had a lot of fun writing. This one-shot of course has no relation, sorry for repeating that over and over but just a reminder, although it is close, date wise. Enjoy everyone, and I should be updating again this week on Thursday or Friday. And obviously I have no idea what Adam got, and my gift ideas are probably unrealistic but bear with me.
-Adam's POV-
I kept telling myself it wasn't a big deal, and I shouldn't expect much. Then again, she was my fiancee and turning 35 wasn't exactly nothing. I thought back to Behati handing me the box that held a whole new designer outfit. It wasn't that I didn't appreciate it, because I did. Designer clothes as gifts weren't really my thing though, which Behati must have forgotten. She had been more excited than me about the gift, begging me to try them on and wear them out. We were trying to get over a rough patch, if you called me catching her making out with someone that. I wasn't sure why I hadn't broken it off right then, but she'd begged me to give her another chance. So here she was giving me designer shirts and pants and demaning I try them on. I had, while at the same time thinking of what I had really wanted, and hinted about. There was a Beatles exclusive first edition white album signed by them that I heard about. It just went on auction and I wanted it. Desperately. The Beatles were my idols and to own something like that would mean everything. It wasn't meant to be though since I'd gone online on my phone while pulling on the new Armani jacket and saw that someone else had won the album.
It was a new day though, and I stood in the Voice studio in comfortable levi's and a polo.
"Happy Birthday man." I turned around to see Blake Shelton with his hand outstretched to shake mine and his other hand holding a giant bottle of bourbon. "Celebrate," he said as he thrust the bottle into my hands.
"Thanks Blake," I replied as I looked for a place to set the bottle down.
"Please tell me you two are not going out later to drink that." I shrugged at Usher who had a bag in his hands.
"I presume that is for moi?" I asked.
"This old thing?" asked Usher as he held up the red bag. "It could be."
"And I guess Shakira didn't want to waste her money on Adam," interjected Blake.
"Oh I saw her carry something in, but right now she's talking to all her team members about girl power," said Usher with a chuckle.
"Well both of you, thank you."
"Didn't think your family would just show up with nothing, did you? Voice family sticks together," replied Usher. We talked a while longer before we decided we really needed to stark working with our team.
"Don't think we won't try and kick your ass because it's your birthday," shouted Blake as he walked away.
I waited for Kat as I answered texts of people still wishing me happy birthday as well as fans on twitter.
"Happy Birthday coach," said Kat as she ran to me with outstretched arms.
"Thank you," I replied as she handed me a card. "Kat you didn't have to get me a card." I opened it and was laughing as she replied,
"Of course I did, it was the least I could do. Christina actually bought you a present," shrieked Kat as she clasped her hands together.
"Really?"
"Yup, I have no idea what it is. Not that I would tell you if I did."
"Hmm...well let's get started, shall we?"
