I spent the last week relaxing at Coby's house at Oceanside, San Diego either surfing or just relaxing by the beach with Coby, I ignored my phone and wouldn't let myself think about anyone back in Brazil. It was so good feeling the California sun on my skin again, it had been so long since I'd been back and forgot how much I really loved this place. Things between Coby and me had been really chilled out, he hadn't mentioned what happened in Brazil between us or asked why I'd flown out in the first place. That's what I'd always loved about him, he understood the healing power of silence and knew if and when I was ready to talk I would. We were sharing the same bed and sleeping together and although we had sex often it didn't feel the same as last time and shortly afterwards I'd always find myself thinking about David and even wishing it was his arm I were wrapped up in.

After almost two weeks of hiding out in California I was lying in bed with Coby wrapped up in his arms and I decided it was probably best I check my phone. I had 431 message and my voicemail was full. I checked the last message it was from Rafaella a few hours ago.

Just thought I'd let you know Felipe woke up this morning..if you even care and I had my scan for the baby everything's okay

"Fuck" I blurt out

"What's up?"

"It's Rafaella..Felipe woke up...I'd not even thought about it, I'm such a selfish cow"

"No you're not"

"I am. I run away in the dead of night not telling anyone. Not Lucca or Rafaella all because some stupid boys upset me. I'd promised her be there for her and I left her"

"She'll understand. You had your reasons"

"You don't even know why I'm here" I laugh

"We'll explain then"

I lean up off his chest explaining everything that had happen since he left Brazil..Neymar..David everything. Once I'd finish he started laughing

"You're laughing?"

"Yes..really for the cleverest person I've ever meet you can be really fucking stupid sometimes. I do believe you've fallen in love with this David my dear, I mean don't you remember when you feel in love with me in Iraq.. You were a complete fucking weirdo for weeks afterwards. I don't believe David ever meant to hurt you..I actually think he's been trying to do the right thing ever since he meet you and you've just been acting like a knob" he laughs

"Cheers this is really helping..and what's your expert analysis on the Neymar mess?"

"You trying to prove to yourself you don't like David so you don't let yourself get hurt again and you secretly wanting to slut around a bit after me" he winks

"Wow thanks. Coby?"

"Yes my dear"

"You're a complete cheating dickhead that I'll always have a place for in my heart..but..I do believe you right even if it does pain me to day" I laugh

"Then I have one question for you flat ass....what you still doing here" he laughs

After saying my goodbyes to Coby as he reassures me he'll be okay and has some army recruit sluts waiting for him back home I'm sitting at the first class lounge bar as decide to read through some of my messages

Layla - WTF where have you fucking fucked off too

Alonso - let me know you're okay please darling xxx

Soap - could of let me know you were pissing off somewhere instead of leaving me with these dickheads. Let me know your safe lassie

David - I promise you with all my heart I wasn't in that bet, none of us were. We love you too much. I have done nothing but try to protect you since I first meet you, when I first met you and realised it was love at first sight. Despite everything..Neymar I still love you and want you. Please forgive me for not telling you but I did not want to see you upset. Please call. I love you always

I had a few more messages along the same lines and then some from the rest of the football team begging me to get in contact. The one that really caught my attention though was one from Layla two days ago

Layla - IM FUCKING PREGNANT AND I DONT HAVE MY BEAT FRIEND HERE TO FREAK OUT WITH. IF YOU DONT CALL OR COME BACK NOW ILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!

Will all first class passengers for flight VA213 to Rio De Janeiro please proceed to gate G5
