I split up from Hisoka and the rest of the group as we all filed in. I looked over at the enthusiastic kid, Gon who I found had tracked Leorio through his scent. I smiled to myself; he was definitely worth keeping an eye on. I attempted to scale him myself and decided he would make a fine hunter. In fact, he resembled a brilliant hunter I've meet in Yorknew City a few years ago. He was part of the board and shared similar qualities to this kid. I walked away before I could be caught starting and faced the two examiners in front of us all.

This was the second phase. I wonder what the task will be this time. I decided not to ponder on it any further as the examiners began to introduce themselves. They introduced themselves to be Menchie and Buhara. While Menchie looked slender with sharp features, Buhara was plump with rounded features. We were greeted by a loud rumble that determined our fate in this phase.

The two announced that this phase consisted of cooking. Some of the applicants seemed appalled by the idea. It was revealed that these two were gourmet hunters which caused the crowd to erupt with laughter. Anger was now visible on Menchie's face as she laced her words with sarcasm. The second phase has commenced and not on a good note.

We were tasked to hunt and cook pigs to satisfy Buhara's end of the deal. All the applicants ran off into what was known as the Biska Forest Park. I put my guard up knowing that the exam probably wouldn't just have us hunt normal pigs or animals. This proved useful in my part as I sensed the ground beneath me shake. I steadied my stance as the shaking only intensified. I turned around to see Kurapika, Leorio, Gon, and Killua being chased by a herd of pigs. The pigs had large snouts and sent applicants flying.

I stood there, trying to analyze the pigs and realized they must have large snouts for a reason, but finding out that reason was going to be more difficult. I tried to concentrate but was rudely interrupted as one of the pigs began charging towards me. I ran towards the trees as climbing the tree would likely give me a height advantage. I began to scale the tree relatively quickly, shaking some of the branched in the process. A particular branch began to crack as the pig put weight on it, straining its connection with the trunk. The branch landed and hit the pig in the forehead, effectively knocking it out. That was when it dawned me; the pigs have a particularly soft spot located on the pig's forehead that must be their weak point. A large snout to protect their weak forehead. It made sense. It seems many others had it figured out too as many of them, I included, proceeded to carry the dead pig back to the cooking facilities.

Along the way, I got a rather creepy look from a certain clown. He seemed to smile in approval before killing a pig of his own. He too brought back a pig and decided on the cooking facility next to mine. I focused on my own pig, realizing that I have never cooked a pig before. I looked over to Hisoka and noticed he was chopping up his pig into parts before choosing a small round piece. He seasoned it and placed it on the grill along with a pan on one of the burners. He cooked a brownish looking sauce, adding some green stuff to it before plating and sprinkling some more of the green stuff on it. The plate looked wonderful and the aroma made me drool a bit. I'm guessing he noticed the marveled look on my face as he simply pointed to it and asked if I wanted any. I looked before plethra of precautions surfaced in my mind.

What if this was a trick and he tried to poison me? Or maybe he was trying to distract me from working on my own dish so I would fail. More and more what-ifs manifested, causing me to look at the food with distrust. I silently pushed the plate away and shook my head. I looked back at my own pig and tried to emulate what he had done. I chopped my pig into pieces small enough to fit on the pan. I simply seared both sides and lamely placed a random leaf on top. In my opinion, this looked quite good.

I looked back at Hisoka's station to see he had prepared many more dishes, each of the same excellence. Quickly, I brought my dish up to the examiners before I could stop myself to compare my lame dishes to his extraordinary ones. Buhara didn't seem to mind and put up a pass for my dish. I walked back in relief that I had passed the first part of phase two. On the counter of my station, I found a note that said
You can have some -
The scripture was written on the back of a queen of hearts card. I looked to see only one person ovule have written that, Hisoka. I glanced up to see plates of delicious-looking food in front of me. I looked at the foreign substances before deciding to try some. Perhaps I would discover a new like for the food. I ate a piece of the dish and decided it was indeed wonderful. It was soft and tender but also very flavorful. I ate more and more, soon finishing the entire plate.
