Chapter Two

Today's the day! Today I get to meet LadyBug and Cricket in person again, all grown up! I requested them to bring their original costumes because they still had them and promised icecream. Cricket even replied, but I guess he didn't know I was apart of the email because he called me a creep to LadyBug.. She just told him to hush and said he had to go to the meet up as an apology.
I was and still am their biggest fan after all, he's so ungrateful. I didn't have any plain shirts or anything fancy to wear, so I just wore one of my Buggies shirts, only this Buggies shirt was just like the one Fly wore on their show; a solid blue T shirt with a little cartoon bug face, even though it looked more like an alien with antenna. I also wore my Fly antenna headband and Fly wings (they move around, just like in the show!) to finish off my look as a Fly cosplay. I guess because Fly isn't coming, I can be him instead, meaning this is OUR show now! I can't believe I am able to say that; OUR show, because now I'M apart of it!
Every hour that passed, the more excited I got. I cleaned my house multiple times and dusted off all of my Buggies merchandise to show off to LadyBug and Cricket. I cleaned out the inside of the two empty figurine cases because they're bringing them to give to me; what an honor! It was 15 minutes before the time we were supposed to meet up, so I got out all of my tools to assemble and preserve the figurines and left my apartment. I live maybe 10 minutes away from the memorial statue, so I'll probably get there a little early.
Halfway to the statue of the three Buggie characters, I remembered that I needed to make a good first impression, so I stopped by the floral shop to pick out a few flowers to give to LadyBug. Once I picked out the assortment of red and black flowers, I headed back to the direction of the statue; I guess now I'll be 5 minutes late rather than early. As I speed walked to the statue, I spotted two figures, talking to each other right in front of the statue; that must be them! I ran towards them, but I guess Cricket didn't notice because I over heard him talking to LadyBug, saying something along the lines of 'he seems kinda shady, we should probably leave before it gets dark'. LadyBug told him to hush again right before spotting me.
She smiled and called me over, waving her hand, instantly recognizing me. Ladybug wasnt wearing anything close to her original costume and instead had a solid red dress on; same with Cricket; he just wore a plain black t shirt instead of the dark green dress shirt he wore on stage. Cricket took one look at me and had this confused expression on his face. I introduced myself as we headed towards the icecream store near by, which was the first thing I planned for us; now I can get to know them even MORE! I couldn't believe I was walking right next to LadyBug on the way there too, I was so nervous I'd be creepy like cricket said and they'd leave.
For hours, LadyBug and I talked while eating and ordering more icecream; Cricket didn't have much to say as he was busy looking at his phone, texting someone. Turns out LadyBug remembered a lot more about the show than I thought; usually retired actors seem to not care about their past projects. Then it hit me, I've actually found someone that loves the Buggies as much as I, and she's one of the characters! We didn't talk about Fly much; anytime I'd mention him, LadyBug would change the subject and Cricket would give me a weird look. It was starting to get dark, but I wanted to show them my merchandise collection, so I insisted they see it before they go home.
Cricket continued to make up excuses but LadyBug silenced him and agreed to visit; I guess there are some things not even LadyBug herself has seen.
Once we got to my home, I excitedly opened my apartment door with my rusted key and allowed LadyBug and Cricket to step inside. Cricket cringed right as he entered and asked if I forgot to take the trash out. That made LadyBug angry and she threatened to smack him if he didn't stop being a jerk. I didn't care though and couldn't contain myself as I showed them the door to the Buggies room. I entered first and covered the Fly figurine with a Buggies blanket for a final reveal before LadyBug and Cricket came in.
Cricket stood near the door and put their costumes down on a table while LadyBug walked around and examined my trinkets and toys in awe; she complimented my cleaning skills as she said she didn't see a single speck of dust on anything. Before I showed them the extremely rare Fly figurine, I asked them to step in front of the other two empty cases, LadyBug on the left and Cricket on the right. They exchanged glances as I turned to close the door behind me, blocking all of the outside city noises.  I took out the camera from my bag to take a picture; I couldn't see their faces as I was doing so, but I bet they were just thrilled to get a photograph in my room. I quickly snapped a picture and examined it; Cricket looked quite uncomfortable as he wasn't smiling but frowning with his eyes fixed on LadyBug. LadyBug smiled in the picture, but barely; she had looked at Cricket instead of the camera as well.
LadyBug asked why I had closed the door, but I didn't answer because I was still studying the picture. I wasn't satisfied for some reason; a picture with them should have been enough, but they didn't truly look happy like I wanted. I looked back at Cricket, then LadyBug and then at Fly's middle case. I told them I wanted to show them my Fly figure now, but to stay put so I could take a picture of their reaction. Cricket quickly disagreed and started to walk away, saying he was feeling creeped out.
I became irritated and insisted they stay there, but even LadyBug stepped forward. She asked if they could go outside for a minute to get some air. I shook my head and told them they could right after they let me take a final picture; they finally obeyed and stepped back to where they originally were, shifting, with excitement probably. I told them to cover their eyes and to only open them once I asked them to, as I took off the blanket . I quickly pulled off the blanket, revealing the Fly figure and stepped back.
I took out a small, grey remote with a single button; the Fly figure had the original wings that Fly wore on stage and because I happened to get the remote with the purchase, I pushed the button and turned them on. A soft flutter could be heard from instead the case; LadyBug squeaked, probably with joy, and they both held their breath as I told them to open their eyes. The moment their eyes met Fly's figure, I snapped a picture; but again, they didn't seem so happy.
"Oh-oh my goodness! This is awful!" LadyBug gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. Cricket covered his mouth too, bending over, looking away from the Fly figure I worked so hard on. Hearing LadyBug say this made my heart sink. How was she not thrilled that this was the ORIGINAL FLY FIGURE? All I did was clean out the inside of the figure and pose it in the position to where he was flying, rope around his neck and everything, just like how he looked in the live episode right before it ended.
"You're sick! You're so sick!" Cricket yelled at me, walking over to the now crying LadyBug, trying to comfort her while he tried not to look at my Fly figure. I didn't understand why they were so upset. Seeing their old friend flying here right next to them was that horrifying? I felt angry; I worked so hard on this and they absolutely hated it. I explained that they should be grateful I reunited them with their friend, and how they should be happy I worked so hard on this for THEM.
They didn't listen and Cricket tried to push past me to get to the door, but I blocked him.
"Where do you think you're going? I thought you wanted me to have your figures? You brought your original costumes and everything so there's no backing out now," I told him as I grabbed a rope and knife off of the table from behind the frame with LadyBug's latest letter inside. Cricket backed up in a panic as I walked towards them; he was trying to find something to use as a weapon while LadyBug cried even harder, hiding behind him. Seeing her sad was upsetting for me, but a deal is a deal.
