I woke up in an amazing mood, have no idea why. Last night was simply amazing. I never expected a bad boy like Dyshawn to take me some place like that. And when I opened my eyes in the booth, it looked like he was actually listening to my every word not just the sound of my voice. I just wish I could know what his intentions are with me. I know a guy like him has females swarming around him on the daily. But it's the way he looks at me. I don't know, I'm probably way too ahead of myself.
I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs to the kitchen. My mom was standing by the sink drinking her morning coffee. She's been quiet lately, which isn't like her at all. Maybe it's from all these late shifts my dad's been pulling.
"You okay ma?"
"I'm fine honey. Let's talk about you."
I took a bite out of the toast she had next to her.
"What about me?"
"You've been walking around here singing like a little song bird. So, I wanna know."
"Ma it's... I don't know what it is. It's like you never know what it is he wants or what he's thinking. Me being me though, I never really gave him a chance to explain either."
"Well my dear, you being you is probably what's keeping him around."
"But what if he like.... wants more?"
"All I can tell you is to protect yourself first. "
I kissed her cheek.
"Love you ma."
She smiled a weak smile and I went out the door to head to school. I put my headphones in my ear and started my walk towards my bus stop when a car pulled up in front of me blocking my way. Before I could open my mouth to say something, the window rolled down and I connected with those oh so familiar eyes.
"Dyshawn, what are you doing?"
"Just cruisin'. What you doin'?"
"Tryna get to school if you move."
"Na, I got a better idea. Get in."
I rolled my eyes.
"Come on Dyshawn, move out the way."
"Why? You don't wanna play hookie with me? You scared?"
"I'm not scared"
I bit on the inside of my lip and watched him start to smirk. I took a deep breath and went around to the passenger side and got in.
"So where we goin'?"
He smiled at me then leaned over, making me gasp. His face was inches from mine, just like how we were in the studio. I licked my lips nervously, prepared for his kiss.
"Safety first."
He pulled the seat belt over my body and clicked it secure. He chuckled and I rolled my eyes.
"Let's go lil bit."

"That's a huge fish."
"That's what I said."
I looked through the glass at this abnormal fish in amazement. Dyshawn brought me down to the local aquarium and I'm completely shocked. One, because I didn't know he knew about this place. Two, because I've never been here EVER.
"They seem so peaceful." I said placing my hand on the glass.
"I would assume they are. They live naturally, ya know? Only shit they gotta worry about is eating and trying not to be the next one to get ate. "
