"Alright class, remember to read chapter five and seven for your test tomorrow."

I gathered my books and got out of class as fast as I could. All day today I've been dragging around. Maybe it's because it's my birthday and I know whatever it is Robyn has planned for me, I'm going to regret agreeing to do it.

"Hey Zion."

I looked and smiled.

"Hey Trey. What's up?"

"I just wanted to say happy birthday."

He handed me a bouquet of roses and a piece of paper. He's the sweetest guy ever, and he's constantly raining me with compliments. Robyn said I should go ahead and date him, but I don't need all of that right now. I'm barely passing my classes.

"Thanks, they're beautiful."

"Not as beautiful as you. I was wondering what you had planned for later."

"Well, I know Robyn has something planned. We might go clubbing or something. I'm sure you wouldn't be interested in that."

"I'll come if you're there."

I blushed.

"I'll see you there." he said with a smile and walked away.

I got to my dorm and put the roses in a vase. This didn't feel like my birthday. I missed my mom to be honest. But I'm going to make the best of my day.

"Aye, it's the birthday girl!"

I rolled my eyes. Robyn has a dress and heels in her hand, and by the length of it, I'm going to regret this night.

"Rob-"

"I don't wanna hear it. I finally got your nose out of some books to shake some ass and I'm not tryna hear you sob. Get dressed bitch."

                                       ************************************

I can't even lie, this party is fun. Either that or I'm really drunk.

"I'm about to go to the bar!" I screamed to Robyn. She was so busy shaking her ass on some guy, I doubt she heard me.

I went down to the bar and ordered my drink then suddenly hands were put over my eyes.

"Whoever you are,  I have on lashes."

The hands were moved and I turned around to see Trey's smile.

"Hey I didn't think you would show."

And he shouldn't have. Trey had on some too big khakis and a wrinkled polo shirt and God knows what kind of shoes. I don't know if it's because I normally see him on campus and nobody gives a fuck about how they dress, or if this guy really has bad taste in clothes. Or maybe I'm just drunk.

"Come outside, I want to show you something."

He grabbed my hand then guided me out the back door. We stood in an empty parking lot and I started to get confused.

"What are we out here for?"

"I love you Zion."

"Wait what?" I started coughing. "What do you mean you love me?" I said after I got my breath together.

"I've been watching you for so long and-"

"Hold up, save it, please." I said laughing.

I tried to go back inside but he grabbed my arm.

"Trey, get off of me."

"I got the nerve to confess my feelings and you laugh?"

He tightened his grip and I started getting scared.
