Chapter 3

It's been a few days since SnowPaw and Dottie brought ArrowPaw back to camp. He still hasn't woken up and is staying in the medicine cats den. SnowPaw has been coming in after training with her mentors to check up on the strange cat.

SnowPaw walked into the den. BlueLeaf was working on LightingPaw who got a few scratches from the morning patrol. " Hey BlueLeaf is ArrowPaw still asleep?" " As far as I know I've been busy SnowPaw, how was training with DarkFur today?" " Good I was able to pin him down, thinking about it now he probably let me. But I still did it." " That's good, will you put these on LightningPaw and I'll go check on ArrowPaw." "Ok." SnowPaw picked up the pile of herbs next to LightingPaw. She carefully applied them to the scratches. " How are you today LightingPaw?" " I'm fine SnowPaw, I fought in a real battle unlike you, Your mentor let you pin him it's not a big deal to pin him down. I'm good to go, tell BlueLeaf I said thanks." LightingPaw got up and walked out the den. SnowPaw sat there. Anger stirred in her, she thought about going after LightingPaw and giving him a piece of her mind, but BlueLeaf walked back over to her. " Don't mind him he's always angry and being rude to everyone. Hey by the way ArrowPaw is awake. He's a bit confused so be gentle with him." " Thanks BlueLeaf." SnowPaw walked over to the young cat huddled up in the nest. " Hi. I'm SnowPaw. Your ArrowPaw correct?" The cat turned to face her. " Hello and yes I'm ArrowPaw. I assume your the cat who saved me?" " Yes that's me. Um I hope you don't mind me asking why were those cats chasing you?" The cat looked pained. " BlackStar... He banished me from my clan.. I spoke out against him, I shouldn't have but he was being unfair. My mother and sisters are still there. I hope he hasn't harmed them. How long have I been asleep?" " A few days. I bet your hungry, I'll help you up and we can go share something from the fresh kill pile. Sound good?" " Sounds like a plan. SnowPaw? Am I right?" SnowPaw shook her head yes. SnowPaw got up next to ArrowPaw and helped him get up. " Thank you SnowPaw. Uh can you show me around?" " Well let's get something to eat first then GraniteStar will want to see you, then I'll show you around camp. Sound good ArrowPaw?" " Well I'm at your mercy SnowPaw. So lead on." SnowPaw led ArrowPaw out of the medicine cat den. ArrowPaw looked around, ahead of them was the fresh kill pile and what seemed to be the warriors den where a large dark brown cat sat with a light gray cat with a brown ear and a scar on his right eye. To the left was the apprentice den was a orange and white tabby and dark grey she cat with a red stripe down her back. " GraniteStar is over there with my mentor DarkFur, and those apprentices over there are GorsePaw and my sister ShadowPaw don't mind them." They walked towards the fresh kill pile. SnowPaw picked up a sparrow to share with ArrowPaw. GraniteStar made his way over with DarkFur. " Hello young one I'm GraniteStar, this is DarkFur, are you planning on staying here in SnowClan?" ArrowPaw looked at the strong leader. " Uh um, can I stay Sir? My father wouldn't want me back he'd rather kill me! I don't want to leave ,you have been so nice and I don't want to take advantage of you and your clan. I'll leave if I have to." " Nonsense we'd love to have you here ArrowPaw, let me address the clan then you can stay here and grow to be a warrior of SnowClan." " Oh thank you GraniteStar, my mother told me of how kind you are, thank you so much. You won't regret it. I'll be the best warrior I'll fight twice as hard!" " I'm sure you will kid, come let's address your arrangement with the clan. Oh by the way you and SnowPaw will shall share mentors in DarkFur. He's ready for a challenge." GraniteStar's smile was mischievous.
