Percy's POV
"Go back to sleep. You have school. Because Percy is too much of an ass to help a friend, we are not going to look for him." Leo says from somewhere outside the bathroom. I sit up.
Great. You fell asleep. Who knows what happened.
I stand up, waiting for a response to what Leo said.
"Thank you." Nico's voice says, and then I hear footsteps. Then a door closed.
"Poor kid." Leo says, and then walks away. I push open the door,quietly, and walk out into the living room. Leo is stretching out of the small bed made by the couch. He turns, and sees me standing there. He immediately sits back up.
"Oh, the ass shows his face." He growls.
"I fell asleep. In the bathroom. I couldn't hear you." I say. His face contorts into one of fury.
"Oh, right, you were right across the hall from where is as yelling and you couldn't hear me. Seems fair." He doesn't look at me. Though his skin is already heating up, I can see it. Flames danced in his hair.
He better not set Nico's apartment on fire.
"You know how hard it is to wake up a Demigod when they're dreaming!" I argue. He seems to calm down a bit. Then he looks back up at.
"Well, if you hadn't fallen asleep, you could've comforted Nico. His sister died. He ran outside and almost killed himself, idiot! If I hadn't run out there, two of our friends would be dead! He was seriously going to kill himself, just because his sister died. He fought me," he pauses, showing me his scratches and bruises. "Just to try and get away. Its a good thing I'm a fire user, or he would have gotten away. No thanks to you. Do you have any idea...........well no, you don't. None of your family members have ever been killed." He hisses, and I stare in shock.
He almost died. And you didn't even wake up!
"We aren't letting him go to school tomorrow, are we?" I ask.
Then I see the stupidity in the question.
"What do you think?! I'll skip with him in case he.....tries anything. Now go back to sleep Percy." He growls. He looks pissed off, so I nod, then walk away. I slowly and quietly push open Nico's bedroom door,and see he's asleep. I sigh, then walk in, sitting in a chair.
"Why me." NICO sighs shakily, and I feel tears in my eyes. Maybe he isn't asleep.
"Why me." I sigh in agreement. He sits up quietly.
"Percy?" He asks.
"Yeah. Listen, I'm sorry I didn't wake up. I'm really sorry NICO." I say, then put my head in my hands.
