Avery and Kaden walked hand in hand down the path that wound through the city park. It was their anniversary tomorrow. Three years ago they had realized their love for each other.
Avery remembered the day. She had been working at We Know, sharing her relationship expertise with every caller. She remembered Dan. And she remembered their parting.
Avery had always hated goodbyes. Only that time, she had had a hello too.
Kaden had come back to her and they grew to love each other even more as they spent more time together and now, well…
“Kaden?”
He hummed in response.
“What do you think would have happened to us if we never started talking again?”
He glanced down at the engagement ring that sparkled in Avery's finger and smiled, squeezing her hand tightly in his.
“I don't know, but I think I'd love you all the same.”
