I walked into the school next day completely alone. Justin hadn't gotten here yet and Hayes left my side to go to Emma's
Do you know what it's like to think that a person will always be there for you and then they aren't. Hayes was supposed to defend me but he didn't.
As I approached my locker I saw a group of people gawking at it. I pushed through the crowd and I'm now standing I front of it.
My locker had been spray painted with harsh words all over it.
'Ugly whore'
'Nasty bitch'
'No one likes you just leave'
Instead of breaking down right then and there I opened my locker like nothing was wrong. I grabbed my books and closed my locker.
I walked into history to see Emma was smirking at me from her spot. I brushed it off like I hadn't seen it.
I took my usual seat next to Jenny who was giving me a weak smile.
"Are you okay?"
Instead of speaking I gave her a reassuring nod. I couldn't speak because I was afraid I would start blowing up and you honestly do want to see that.
As lunch rolled around I was close to my breaking point. Anytime Emma or one of her friends walked past me they would call me a name. I tried my best to ignore them.
I plopped down in my seat across from Jenny. Jess pulled up a chair right next to Jenny and say down.
"Guys you don't have to feel bad I'm fine."
They both looked at each other as if they were talking internally.
"Ok,"they spoke at the same time.
There was about 10 minutes of lunch left. I got up and threw my lunch away without speaking to Jenny and Jess.
I pushed through the heavy metal doors. I stalked down the hallway towards my locker.
I opened my locker and grabbed my books for my class after P.E.
As I stepped back from my locker it slammed shut. Emma was standing there with a smug look on her face.
"Did you like my artwork?"She gave me a smirk.
Instead of answering I rolled my eyes and tried to walk past her. She grabbed onto my shoulder and pushed me against the lockers. My books dropped to the floor as I struggled to get her hands from around my neck.
"You are so stupid. You think that Hayes would actually go out with you. You're just a dumb whore who needs to get the hell away from Hayes."
Black spots were starting to form in my eyes. My knees were shaking violently.
"Emma what the hell!"
"Hayes!"
Her hands immediately dropped from neck. I collapsed to the ground.
Emma ran over to Hayes. She tried to hug him but he pushed her back. They started yelling at each other.
More footsteps were approaching. I used all the energy I had left to see who it was.
Justin was running towards us with Drew in tow. Justin and Drew stopped and started pulling Hayes away from Emma. Drew ran off towards the office. Justin started telling Emma off and Hayes ran towards me.
The bell rang as he scooped me up in his arms. I rested my head against his chest as he pushed past all the people in the hallway.
"You're gonna be okay Liv."
