Chapter 18

Niall’s POV

I saw Jasmine leave the room. I knew this was hard for her. Rebecca and I looked at each other and nodded. No words were necessary as we both headed for the door. I opened it and we saw Jasmine bawling her eyes out with her back up against the wall. Rebecca rushed over and put her arm around her best friend. I sat on the other side.

“ Jasmine its ok! Don’t worry! Everything is going to turn out fine,” said Rebecca in her normal peppy voice that I adored. 

“ D-did you s-see the w-way he l-looked at her?” Jasmine said through her sobs.

“ That means nothing. Liam is tired and confused. Don’t worry about it Jasmine,” I said with a smile.

“ He d-doesn’t e-even remember m-me,” said Jasmine crying even harder now. A doctor walked past, saw me, and gave a wave with a huge smile. I ignored it. He cared more about me than the sobbing girl next to me. That was the disadvantage of being famous. If people saw you, thats all they cared about.

Three days later.

Liam was out of the hospital. It was his first day out and he was brought to the hotel with the rest of the boys and I. Ever sense the incident with Liam and Courtney happened three days ago Jasmine had been at her house. She wouldn’t leave or answer my texts. She didn’t even want to come and see Liam. Rebecca had been with her for awhile, but tonight she was coming to hang out with me. I had some plans in mind. Harry and Joanna were still in love, but Joanna was spending so much time at the jail with her sister. She still loved her. Harry understood and was fine with her decision. Zayn was a mess. He missed Hailey, but knew what she did was wrong. He was trying his best to get over her. Louis was taking Liam’s accident very hard like all of us, but he had the support from his girlfriend, Eleanor. She was in England, but her flight to Boston left the next morning. She couldn’t stand not being with Lou for so long.

“ Niall?” I heard Liam’s voice behind me.

“ Yea Liam?” I asked.

“ When is my mum coming to see me?” he asked.

“ I don’t know Liam,” I said. Liam went and sat on the couch.

“ Hi,” I heard a girls voice from the doorway. I turned to see Courtney.

“ Oh, hi,” I said. Liam looked to the door and saw her standing there. He got up and walked over to her. He took her hand and they walked out the door. Everything was a mess. Liam didn’t know who one direction was, he didn’t remember our songs, and he wouldn’t sing. He was now in love with the wrong girl and everything was falling apart. I sat on the couch with my head in my hands. I couldn’t take it. 

“ Niall? Are you ok?” I heard Rebecca ask from the other side of the room. She walked over to me and took my hands down from my face.

“ Look at me,” she said, “ everything is going to turn out ok. I promise.” I smiled at her and kissed her on the forehead.

“ Thank you,” I said. I got up and opened the door.

“ Come on,” I said motioning for Rebecca to accompany me. 

“ Where are we going?” she asked.

“ You will see,” I responded.

Jasmine’s POV

I returned to work. I took a week off so I could be with the boys during these hard times. Now everything was a mess and I didn’t want to see them so I decided to go back. When I walked through the door my boss greeted me warmly and told me to get started with making a batch of chocolate cupcakes. When I walked into the kitchen I saw Erika there. She glared at me and then turned away. She was the same as always. I got all the ingredients ready and started to make the cupcakes. The whole time I saw Liam staring into Courtney’s eyes. The picture wouldn’t leave my head. All I wanted was for Liam to fall back in love with me, but I knew that was impossible. He didn’t love me. I had to accept the fact and move on. Once I had the batter ready I poured it into the pans and started backing them. While they were in the oven I went out to the store and helped the next few customers. I tried to be as peppy as possible, but it was hard. I missed Liam so much.
