You leaned against the marble table, breathing slowly while watching Markus spoke on the broadcast.

He had changed his skin, so now instead of the smooth brown colour, it was a dull metal. It stunned you for a moment, catching you by suprise. You forgot, underneath all the emotions and human-like features, Markus still came from Cyberlife, and was an android.

You felt so confused, but quickly concentrated as Markus cleared his throat, finishinh his speech.

"We are no longer your slaves."

You could see how determined, how badly he wanted this. His eyes brimmed with pain, and you wondered how much he had gone through. Or how many androids he had seen die in front of his eyes, unable to do anything.

"Alright, let's go!" North yelled, gesturing to the door outside. "It won't be long before the guards come."

Just as if on cue, the door slammed open, revealing a group of angry guards armed with guns.

Oh, brilliant. Thanks for jinxing it, North.

The four of you fled, running to the closest exit- the roof. But before North could push the heavy door open, you heard Simon yell in pain, and twisted to see that a bullet had lodged its way into his leg.

"Oh fuck, Simon, fuck!" Another bullet came flying, and you threw yourself over Simon, desperate to protect your only friend. Instead, it missed and hit a wall. Markus grabbed the blonde boy, and titled his head. "Come on, (Y/n). I'll take Simon, you follow North."

You was trembling and you tried to breath normally, but the atsmophere in the room had changed. The tense guards had their guns all armed at the androids, ready to fire again, and you was terrified, what if Simon died, what if you didn't make it, or worse, what if none of you got out alive?

"(Y/n)!" You gasped and nodded, running towards the roof and locking the door as the rest followed.

"Okay, okay. Can you move, Simon?" You asked shakily, leaning down to touch his leg. The wound was awful, blue thirium bleeding out of his damaged skin. He looked awful, pale and in shock- and you wanted to cry, so badly, how could those asshoes shoot him? And why weren't you there to protect him earlier? Fuck, fuck.

"How painful is it, Simon?" Markus crouched next to you, asking gently.

"WELL, HE'S OBVIOUSLY IN A LOT OF PAIN, YOU IDIOT!" You shrieked, removing a spare shirt from your bag and tearing it into pieces, tying a makeshift bandage around it.

"He needs a new biocomponent, but first we have to-"

"Guys, we HAVE to go! There's not enough time! Just leave him there!" North yelled, glancing nervously at the door. You could hear the guards coming, their heavy footsteps more audible each second.

"No! We are not leaving anyone behind!" You screamed, still wrapping the shirt around his leg. The blood had seeked through the soft material, but it would do.

"(Y/n), I can't walk." Simon laughed sadly, and then winced in pain.

"No! You are coming with us, Simon. Right?" You looked at the boy with blue eyes, but he refused to meet your gaze. No, no, no. This cannot be happening.

"We have to kill him. If the police catches him, they'll acess to his memories. They'll find Jericho and all our secrets." North removed a gun from her pocket, and without thinking, you hurled it from her hand.

"NO! WE ARE NOT SHOOTING SIMON!" You shrieked, breathing heavily.

"Enough!" Markus snapped, and the two of you shut up. His intelligent eyes were scanning the roof, thinking.

"We are not shooting an android. Simon, can you hide? You can't come with us, but is there a place to be concealed from the guards?" He spoke calmly, but he looked worried as well.

Simon nodded, and gestured to the three of you. "Go."

As North and Markus adjusted their parachutes, you stood frozen, staring at Simon. "I can't leave him."

He smiled,"You have to, (Y/n). It's for the best." But I don't want to let you die. I don't want you to be deactivated. And I can't imagine you not existing, this android who has developed so much love and emotions. To have Cyberlife destroy him.

Markus gripped your shoulders tightly,"Listen, (Y/n). If you don't leave right now, we will all die. Do you want to do this to Jericho?"

The tears came easily now, making your vision blurry. "Okay." As you adjusted the straps, and made your way to the ledge of the roof, you didn't look back at Simon. Because you couldn't dare to see him alone.

I'm sorry, Simon.

You jumped.
