Matty's POV
Once I got to my apartment I decided to take a shower, I knew all the homework I had to finish for the next day but I could figure that out later because, to be completely honest, I didn't care at all. I walked towards the bathroom taking my shirt off on the way there, I reached out my hand and turned on the shower. While I waited for the water to get warm I took off the rest of my clothes and then I stepped inside, I felt my body relaxing under the hot water and sighed. After I washed my body and hair, I wrapped a towel around my waist and walked to my room. When I looked at the clock over the night stand I noticed I still had a lot of free time before the party, so I put on a pair of jeans and laid down on my bed. I turned on the television and when I didn't find anything interesting I decided to sleep.
I jumped a little when I heard someone knocking on the front door but I still didn't move from my bed, I just took a pillow to cover my face until the sound of my phone on the night stand made me reach out to get it, swearing under my breath as I answered without looking at the number on the screen.
-Yes?
-Matthew Healy, by the tone of your voice I'm guessing you were sleeping.-
-Who is it?-
-I'm offended, not only you forgot to pick me up but you also don't recognize me.-
-Fuck- I got up and ran towards the door, opening it to find Charlotte with her back against the wall. She hung up once she saw me and rolled her eyes as she entered the apartment- I'm sorry, I didn't see how late it was.-
-Yeah, I realized that. You should change, now.-
-Yes, give me a couple of minutes.-
-You know, usually girls take longer to get ready.-
-Shut up- I could imagine that smile she got on her face whenever she made those kind of comments. I walked towards my closet and took the first thing I saw, walking back to the living room once I was ready, where Charlotte was laying on the couch.- Ready to go?-
-Sure- She got up and then I finally looked at her- Hey, you look nice, you almost look like a girl.-
-Very funny Matty, let's go.-
-George won't take his eyes off you, is that your plan?- We both walked towards the door again, I took my jacket and my keys before we got out and walked to the elevator.
-Maybe... it's none of your business Healy.-
-You know the situation Char.-
-I know, that doesn't mean we can't be friends, just like you and me- I saw a big smile on her face while I pressed the button, getting inside a few moments later when the doors opened.
-It's hard for him too, relationships aren't easy. He wouldn't forgive himself if something happened to you, I wouldn't either.-
-I know Matt, but you don't have to give me explanations. If something happens, great... I won't push or rush anything- I nodded once and we got out of the building, walking towards my car.
On our way to George's place we kept talking about everything and anything, laughing at every stupid thing we could think of, we even sang to every song that played on the radio. After thirty minutes we got out of the car, the music was blasting loudly and I noticed some people were arriving, like us, while other were already dancing and laughing carelessly.
-Stay close, okay?- I looked at Charlotte and she nodded, holding my arm as we both walked inside the house. Once there we both started looking for George, saying hi to some people we walked by.
