Evelynn Kramzer
“Detention!” The principal, Mr. Davis yelled. “Two weeks for all five of you!”
My mouth dropped open. I had never, ever, gotten detention before. The closest I’ve ever gotten to detention was when Aiden threw a spitball at Mr. Helton- the meanest teacher in the entire planet -then told him, along with Kelsey, that I had done it, but he took one look at me and immediately decided that it had to be someone else, and that I was innocent.
The reason they did that, by the way, was to prove to me that all the teachers loved me, probably because I had the highest grade in our grade and had never been late to class.
“But sir, I didn’t do anything! It wasn’t my fault that some asshole decided to pour his bottle of water on me!” I defended, glaring at Reece, who glared right back.
“Well, that ‘asshole’ probably wouldn’t have done that if someone didn’t purposely fail his Science worksheet-”
“Enough!” Mr. Davis roared. If Reece’s glare killed me, then Mr. Davis’s glare would have incinerated me then buried me seven feet under the ground. “Three weeks of detention for the both of you, and two weeks for the rest. You may leave now.”
“Whatever.” Reece muttered, then left, slamming the door after him. Cameron shot me an apologetic look then followed him out, which left me with Kelsey, who was staring at me with a surprised look on her face, and Aiden, who glared at the door and seemed to dislike Reece even more than I do. If that was even possible.
Confused? Let me explain what happened.
Basically, after the food fight started, most of the cheerleaders left, probably not wanting to get any food on them. It then continued for about another five minutes before Mr. Davis stormed in and called our entire table- Reece, Cameron, Aiden, Kelsey and I –into his office, and ordered the rest of the people who were still in the cafeteria to help clean up.
A lot of pissed off glares, glowering at the ground, some yelling, and one incredibly long lecture later, we arrived at where we were now. Which, by the way, is basically me storming out of the office with a sour look on my face.
Ah well. At least I get to skip P.E.

During homeroom, which we usually have just right before school ends, Mrs. Meyers called the people who took her English class out, and we met with the students of the Drama class we were doing the project with.
“Alright class, go find your partners. I wrote it on the board just in case anyone forgot who their partners are.” Ah, so that was why half of the girls in this room looked like they were about to rip my head off when I first stepped in.
The words Cameron and Evelynn were written in cursive in the middle of a bunch of other names, and maybe it was just me, but it seemed to be a bit bigger than all the others.
“Hey, partner.”
I turned around to find Cameron grinning at me as he took the seat next to me, either not noticing all the glares directed my way, or not caring.
Just as I was opening my mouth to greet him back, Mrs. Meyers started talking. “So since we were studying the book Pride and Prejudice in our English class and the Drama class was doing a bit of exploring in the topic of affection, Ms. Flairs and I have decided to combine our classes together for the final project.” She paused. “But you already know that.”
