Evelynn Kramzer
It was time for detention again.
Kelsey, Aiden and I were the first ones to arrive. They chose seats in the first row and sat down while I went to the second last row then chose a seat that was directly besides the window and sat down there instead.
There weren't a lot of people in detention today, only the three of us actually, Cameron hadn't arrived yet, and I didn't know if Reece was going to show up or not, seeing that he wasn't here last time. So imagine my surprise when Reece came in, Cameron behind him, and sat down in the seat next to mine.
"Hi Eve," he said, grinning at my now annoyed expression.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered, glancing at Mr. Helton, the unlucky teacher who was chosen to monitor the students in detention today, making sure he hadn't heard us. He, by the way, appeared to be sound asleep. Gosh, such great teachers we have in this school.
"Serving my detention, of course."
"You weren't here yesterday, though," I stated, eyebrows scrunched up.
"Aw, is little Evie worried about me?" He cooed, reaching forward to pinch of cheeks. I slapped his hand away with a scowl, and crossed my arms over my chest.
"No. I was just...wondering."
"Sure you were," he drawled with his signature smirk.
"I was!"
He sighed dramatically, shaking his head. "It's okay, Eve. Denial is the first step towards acceptance." I glowered at him, and then decided that arguing wasn't going to help, so I then looked away and proceeded to ignore him.
"Eve." I ignored him, and started to check out my nails pointedly. "Eve!"
"Mr. Finley?" Mr. Helton glared at Reece while I stifled a laugh, noticing that he had a bit of drool on his chin. Reece seemed to notice it too, as he also seemed to look like he was suppressing a smile. "Is there a problem?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at us. Well, Reece, mainly.
Reece laughed, but quickly covered it with a cough.
"No, sir."
Mr. Helton stared at us suspiciously, but let it go. "Good." The moment he looked away we burst into (kind of) silent laughter, but then quickly stopped once he glanced back at us.
He looked at our impassive- or what I hope passed as impassive -faces, and went back to his book, muttering under his breath. Whew. That was close.
"Eve, Evie, Evelynn, Eve!"
I ignored him and started to hum softly under my breath. "Eve, Eve, Eve, Eve, Eve, Eve, E-"
"What?"
He grinned, amusement lighting up his eyes as he spotted the obvious annoyance on my face. "Hi." You've got to be kidding me. I glowered at him then looked outside the window, away from him.
"Okay, okay! I was just kidding. Forgive me?"
I ignored him completely and continued to glare out the window while mocking him in my head. I was just kidding. Forgive me? Yeah, like I'll do that. I huffed. "Please?" He said, dragging the word out.
Silence.
"Please please please please please plea-"
"Shut up you idiot." I gave up trying to ignore him and started glaring at him instead. By now Mr. Helton had fallen asleep again, and Kelsey and Cameron were staring at us, amusement clear on their faces. Aiden had earphones in his ears and appeared to be writing something down in a notebook, unaware of his surroundings.
