The Hunger Games: The Beginning

Chapter 1

I woke up to Alice screaming, so I went over and held her in my arms. "It's okay, it was just a dream." I said.

"It was me, Silver" Alice said "They picked me!"

"Well, the best part is that dreams aren't real" I said as I smiled

Alice hugged me as my mother walked in. "Time to get ready for the reaping" she said.

I hugged Alice one more time then I left the room.

I turned on the bath water and washed myself. After I washed myself, my mother laid out a nice collard shirt with tan looking pants. I put on my clothes and spiked up my short blonde hair, I looked at myself in the mirror , I looked at the bold light blue eyes and said to myself "Don't be afraid Silver, you can do this"

Alice and I were walking together in our District for the reaping.

As we were walking I saw my best friend, Rachel. She got so beautiful since I saw her last, she wore a beautiful blue dress with her strawberry blonde hair in two braids. Her blue eyes sparkling in the sunlight, she was just, WOW! She walked over to me and hugged me tight, I felt her heart beating fast, and I could tell she was scared.

"Are you okay?" I asked Rachel

"Yeah I am." She said, but I saw a tear in the corner of her eye.

"You'll be okay, okay?"

"Okay"
