The Hunger Games: The Beginning

Chapter 3

As me and Rachel got on the train our mouths dropped: Food, Drinks, Couches, Chandelier, everything

"Wow" Rachel said

"Yeah, Wow" I said

"Yeah really something" the speaker said "now sit down, while I go get your mentor"

"Wait" I said "what's your name?"

The speaker hesitated

"My name is Helga" she said

"Okay, thanks, Helga"

Helga smiled and left the room

"So, this is kinda fancy, right?" Rachel said

"Yeah, it is. I said "I'm definitely not use to this"

Rachel giggled as our mentor walked in

"Hello I am Vincent" said the mentor

"Um, hi I'm Silver, and this is Rachel"

He examined us then sat in a chair, and made us to the same

"So......." I said "your suppose to mentor us, and tell us how to survive, right?"

"Darn right I have to" said Vincent "so what do y'all wanna know?"

"Well I was thinking--"

"No, no we will talk later, bye!"

Vincent left the room and that left Rachel and I just staring at each other.

"What a jerk" said Rachel

"Yeah, he sure is."

I noticed it getting dark, so Rachel laid on the couch and fell asleep.

As she did that, I looked out the window, and saw a mighty oak tree.

It reminded me back home when me and my friend, August, would go hunting in the woods. We would hunt down deer, then I would throw my knives into the deer's ribs, leaving it falling to the ground. As it would fall to the ground, August would shoot it with his bow.

"What if I never get to hunt with him again? Or worst, what if I never get to SEE him again?"

More thoughts rushed into my mind as I fell asleep on the opposite couch.

"Silver, Silver, Silver, wake up we are here!" Rachel said

I woke up and looked out the window what I saw was: I gigantic looking utopia with tons of buildings and skyscrapers.

"It's beautiful" I said

"Sure, is" Helga said as she walked into the room "okay now, when we walk out of the train we will go to the tribute hotels! There will be a lot of people out here so make sure to smile and wave."

"Ready?" I asked Rachel

"Ready."
