I smile while Danny runs away. I'm glad he's gone for good now. He was just bringing the group apart. At the same times I'll kind of miss him. There was finally someone my age.
"Brittany!" Alex shouts while running to me. "Brittany! Where's Danny?"
I try to think of an excuse fast, but Alex notices that I'm taking too long.
"What happened, Brittany?" He says cautiously.
"Nothing." I say defensively. "Why do you think I know where he is?"
"You two were talking on our way over here. So I thought you'd know."
"That was on the way over here." I say smirking that I might actually get away with this. "We're taking a bathroom break now, remember? Now can I have some privacy?"
"Uh, yeah." Alex says backing away with his cheeks red. "Sorry."
Alex then walks away from me.
'You did it!' I think to myself. I got rid of Danny, and got away with it! I'm about to head back to the group when I'm stopped by Bill.
"Brittany." He says stopping me.
"What, Bill?" I ask annoyed.
"Don't act stupid, kid." He says angrily.
That takes me by surprise. Why does this old man know everything? I saw that he knew that Danny was eaves dropping without even looking.
"What are you talking about?" I ask while backing away.
I look for Alex, or at least someone to be by us but We're alone.
"I said don't act stupid." He says putting his hand into a fist. "Tell me where he is, or you will regret it."
I don't know what to do. What's wrong with him? He's old, so I should probably run away. But I can't get my legs to move any farther.
"Tell me where he is." He says while pointing a gun at me. "Now."
I look around for Alex, or anybody. Even Danny will be better than this nutcase. Sadly, nobody comes.
"I will shoot." He says threateningly. And I'm not going to take that chance.
"Fine." I tell him angry at myself that I have up so angrily. "Follow me."
That's when I hear gunshots and my first instinct is to dive to the ground, so I do. When I look up I see Bill laying on the floor with a bunch of bullets in him.
I start freaking out. I'm about to scream when I hear Alex's voice, which calms me down.
"Britt?" He says with a gun in his hand. "Brittany, are you okay?"
"Yeah." I tell him while trying to calm myself down. The only thing I can look at is Bill's body.
"Can you get up?" He says while walking towards me.
I just remember that I'm still lying on the ground. So, I get up and wipe the dust off of me.
"I wish we were back on the surface." I tell him. And I really hate being down here.
"Me too." He says. Sympathy on his face. "But, that's what we're going to have to figure out on our own. With Nichole and Sam. Now, come on. Let's go."
I get up thinking of why Danny was so important to Bill. 'Fine. I'll tell him' I tell myself.
"Alex, wait." I say stopping him.
"What's wrong?" He asks obviously more worried about going back to Sam and Nichole then what I have to say.
"I know where Danny is." I tell him getting ready for him to start screaming.
"Where?" He asks not surprised at all.
That takes me by surprise, but I don't have time to be surprised.
"This way." I tell him while following Danny's footsteps.
