The Forgotten One

a very Dumbledory day and attempted dreamless sleep

After last night's talk or rather early this morning's talk with Sirius things became easier. Having someone else know about mom and the baby lifted a weight I didn't even realize I was holding. Today was Saturday meaning anyone in the third year and up was going in Hogsmeade. Since Aunt Minnie had to go and supervise I was going to spend the day with Grandpa Dumbles in his office. Which should be fun, even though we won't do much since he still has to run the school. When I got to his office he wasn't there. His Phoenix Fawkes was there. Fawkes has been down for the last couple of days meaning that his burning day was coming up.

"Ah, Bella I see you got here alright. Want a lemon drop?"

"Yes please, " Grandpa Dumbles then proceeded to give me a lemon drop, " thank you Grandpa Dumbles." There wasn't much to say about the rest of the day. We had lunch in his office and I played with my toys and drew pictures while he worked. Then around dinner, we had dinner in his office before Aunt Minnie came and picked me up. One of the best parts about staying with Grandpa Dumbles is he lets you eat as much sugary stuff as you want along with ice cream for dinner. By the time Aunt Minnie and I got back to her office I was down from my sugar rush and crashed on my bed. The next couple of weeks went by quickly. It was spent either in Aunt Minnie's office/living quarters, with the Marauders, the Prewett twins, Reggie, Aunt Minnie or Grandpa Dumbles. Aunt Mia and Uncle Monty got home from there "business" trip and I was now back with them for a while, hopefully. After saying goodbye to everyone we left to go back to the house. It turned out Aunt Minnie and Aunt Mia talked about the fact I have been having nightmares every night. So they decided that I would try taking dreamless sleep potion on the nights that were particularly tough. The problem is dreamless sleep is a very addictive potion so it couldn't be taken every night or for every nightmare. Even on the dreamless sleep I still had nightmares. It wasn't one hundred percent effective against nightmares but the relief of being nightmare free for one night a week helped me get some sleep and helped me control my powers somewhat because I got some sleep.
