If you think that you might be an ambivert, but aren't certain, see how many of the following statements apply to you.  By increasing awareness of our type, we can develop a better sense of our tendencies and play to our strengths. If most of them apply, you're most likely an ambivert:

1. I can efficiently perform tasks alone or in a group. I really don't have much preference either way.

2. Social settings don't make me uncomfortable, but I tire of being around people too much.

3. Being the center of attention doesn't bother me necessarily - but I'd rather interact one on one or small groups.

4. Some think I'm quiet, while others think I'm highly social.

5. I don't need to be in constant motion, but too much down time leaves me feeling bored or disconnected.

6. It's just as easy to lose myself in my own thoughts as it is to enjoy a great conversation.

7. Small talk doesn't make me uncomfortable, but my mind tends to wander if it starts to feel tedious or if my mind was elsewhere in the first place.

8. When it comes to trusting other people - sometimes I'm highly skeptical and tend to hang back; other times, I dive right in with great enthusiasm.

9. If I spend too much time alone, I may become apathetic or aloof, yet too much time interacting with others may leave me feeling emotionally or spiritually drained.

Borrowed fr Forbes Magazine - "9 Signs That You're An Ambivert" by contributor Travis Bradbury

According to most sources, including psychoanalyst Carl Jung who coined the terms "introvert" and "extrovert" in the 1920's - there are few people who actually fall squarely within either classification. No matter how hip or cool it is to claim introvert status, half to two-thirds of people are actually ambiverts.

Blah-Blah-Blah... Right?

Just a little something to consider. I'm not here to change minds, just offer options. If you've made it this far, you must be at least a little curious, which is a good thing because this book isn't about hovering safely above a comfort zone. But, it's also not here to intentionally offend or ruffle feathers - that's not how we roll.
