Leaders:

There are two leaders, they are sometimes mates (but are not supposed to have kits), and can be any gender. They consult each other before making decisions, they make decisions together. They also make sure everything is running smoothly, settle disputes, and dole out punishments. They hand pick and train the Deputies, and each leader chooses one. Leaders do not have multiple lives given to them all at once, instead their ancestors in Starclan decide each time if they get another life, or if it is time to join them in the afterlife. Leaders promote cats, choose the names they will be given, and assign apprentices. Leaders names always end with -Star.

Deputies:

There are two deputies, hand picked by the leaders, they are next in line to lead. They are trained on the best ways to govern and make decisions. They are usually seen around the leaders, but when they aren't you will usually find them helping out around the camp, whether that is hunting prey, searching for medicinal herbs, or assisting elders. They take the leaders place when the leader that chose them dies or retires.

Warriors:

Warriors are cats trained in the arts of fighting and hunting. Warriors make up the bulk of the Clan, and provide the Clan with the protection and food supply that keeps it safe and well-fed. Typically, a cat is made a warrior at or over the age of twelve moons. In their oath to become a warrior, they promise to protect and defend their Clan, even at the cost of their life. Warriors train apprentices, teaching them how to be warriors, when they think their apprentice is ready to become a full fledged warrior, they inform the leaders, but the leaders still get the final say.

Apprentices:

An apprentice is a cat in training to become a warrior. Their names end in the word "-paw". Most usually are at or over the age of six moons. They have a mentor appointed to them by the leader at their ceremony and most days are taken out battle training or hunting. They are also given the task of cleaning out bedding and removing Elders' ticks and fleas. Apprentices are not allowed to have a mate or kits, likely because of their young age or not to interrupt their training.

Scouts:

Scouts are somewhat like guards for the camp. They are usually warriors first before being promoted when another scout dies, there are always four. Two scouts are assigned to watch for intruders every night, allowing the other two to sleep. When the leader leaves the camp, a scout usually accompanies them. When they are not performing scout duties they are usually seen doing the same activities as the warriors.

Medicine Cats:

Medicine cats serve the Clan as both their spiritual leader and healer. Cats know if they are destined to be medicine cats when their ancestors appear in their dreams and tell them. As healers, they gather herbs (although this job is usually given to the medicine cat apprentices) and dispense them. They diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries for all the cats in the clans. As spiritual leaders, they interpret omens and prophecy. While all cats can meet their ancestors in their dreams and receive messages, it usually only happens to medicine cats. They train the medicine cat apprentices, and inform the leaders when they think they (the Apprentices) are ready to become full fledged medicine cats, although the Leaders still get the final say.

Medicine Cat Apprentices:

A medicine cat apprentice is the cat that is being trained to follow in the paw-steps of the medicine cat. They learn healing and spiritual lore from the medicine cat. Medicine cat apprentices can be given "warrior names" if they have full training, however, medicine cat apprentices remain apprentices even when fully trained so long as the current medicine cat is still practicing the arts. At the time the old medicine cat either dies or steps down, the medicine cat apprentice becomes a full medicine cat, somewhat like the leader/deputy relationship. When the apprentice becomes the full medicine cat then they can have apprentices of their own.

Queens:

Queens are she-cats nursing or expecting kits. Their primary task during this time is the raising of their kits. Some queens stay in the nursery after they have kits, they do this because they feel they can help the nursing queens. Some queens, do not feel suited for Clan life aside from helping the other queens. They most often help other queens when no milk is available, or when the mother is ill or deceased.

Kits:

Kits are cats who have not been made an apprentice yet. Their names always end in "-kit" Most often, they are under the age of six moons, though sometimes they are held back from being an apprentice for a certain amount of time, sometimes due to injury or misbehaving (A decision made by the leader. They stay in the camp and are forbidden to leave it, unless accompanied by an older cat, such as a warrior, a medicine cat, or any kind of apprentice.

Elders:

Elders are retired warriors, deputies, queens, medicine cats, and leaders who are too old or not in suitable shape to continue with their duties. Elders are taken care of by the whole Clan, and are given respect for the time they have served as part of the Clan. Some cats don't become an elder only because of old age; if there is ever a condition which prevents the cat from fulfilling their duties to their Clan, it usually leads to the cat's decision of retiring.

Outsiders

Outsiders are any cat outside the clan, they can be kitty pets, rouges, or strays. They are not necessarily evil or good.
