"Zaila pay attention! We're looking for the cosine of 360 dregrees." Chloe said snaping me out of my thoughts. We were currently in the library because Chloe was helping me study. I was just too caught up in my own thoughts. Daxton and I had spent a long while talking yesterday and it just made me question a lot of things. I don't like him, or think of him as a friend or anything. I guess he's just an acquaintence. I didn't plan on talking to him again, he is a jock and I don't want to be friends with a jock.
"Chloe, I'm tired of Trig! We've been at it for an hour now. I'm hungry!" Trigonometry sucks. I wasn't going to show any sign of intelligence any time soon. This thing was too fucking hard.
Chloe sighed, closed her textbook and turned to look at me. "Pizza?" I didn't think twice about the answer to her question. Pizza is life. "Pizza." I answered.
We walked out of the library and to her car, a black Corvette. She got it last month, she'd been saving up for it for quite a while.
We got into her car and she started driving out into the road. I decided to make conversation with her just so that it woulnd't turn into an awkward silence in here, but she beat me to it.
"So, Pizza Hut or Peter Piper?" She asked me. I didn't really like Peter Piper that much. It could get really annoying and the pizza wasn't even that great.
"Pizza Hut for sure. They have the best wings, and the best pizza."
We arrived at Pizza Hut after a while. The smell of melted cheese and fresh baked pizzas welcomed us when we got in. We went over to the little stand thing that they had where we had to wait for someone to come over and tell us where to sit. Chloe decided to go and play with the claw machine and I just stood there taking in everything around the place.
"Hey you." Someone tapped me on my shoulder and I turned around to see who it was. Ugh, it was Daxton again. I don't mean to sound rude or anything but can't I get a break from him or something? I just talked with him yesterday, what does he want?
I looked up at him and just raise an eyebrow at him. He gave me a confused look and was about to speak but the waitress beat him to it.
"Table for 3?" She asked looking at all three of us. "No, just two please." I said pointing at Chloe and I. She started walking towards and empty table and I pushed past Daxton so I could follow the waitress.
I glanced back at Daxton and saw him with a confused and sort of angry look on his face. I just gave him a smirk. Typical jock, getting mad because a girl blew him off.
We got to our table and the waitress handed us our menus and I gave her a 'thank you'. I turned to Chloe and saw her staring at me.
"What was that about?" She asked me.
I sighed, "Nothing. He just thinks we're all buddy buddy because we talked yesterday. He's really starting to get on my nerves." I answered, looking down at my menu.
"Oh don't be so mean! Why can't you be freinds with him?" She kept asking. I really didn't want to talk about it.
"Because he's a jock. I'm a "freak". We're not supposed to be seen together and I don't like jocks. They're all too full of themselves." I glanced up at her from my menu. She seemed pretty mad at me.
"Oh look who's talking! The girl who's so against labels and judgement." She snapped at me. "I know, I know. It's just-ugh It's complicated, okay?" I told her.
