MAYUMI blinked repeatedly to regain her vision fully as her hand reached over to stop the alarm she set on her phone. Lifting her upper body from the bed, Mayumi saw Tamonie sprawled out at the end of the bed and Amaru and Lorie lying peacefully on the floor.

Mayumi yawned stretching out her arms and getting outs of the bed and going to the bathroom. Turning the water on, she prepared to brush her teeth, wash her face, and moisturize it with tea tree oil and cocoa butter lotion.

She stared at herself in the mirror, removing her curls out of her face and rolling them up into a high ponytail. Applying a little lip balm, she rubbed her lips together tasting the cinnamon in her mouth.

"Good morning Yumi." Amaru grumbled, walking in the bathroom.

"Good morning dear. How'd you sleep?" Mayumi questioned, perking herself on the counter and rubbing her arms because of the cool air.

Amaru shrugged. "It could've been better
but I really enjoyed myself last night."

"I'm glad you deserved to have fun for one night, it wouldn't have killed you." Mayumi expressed.

"You're right I had so much fun like when that soundcloud rapper came on stage, it was lit." Amaru talked as if she had saw Beyonce on stage.

Mayumi adored Amaru's innocence, she sometimes yearned to be like Amaru. Her parents may have not loved each other but they loved Amaru and it was evident whenever Amaru was around, they'd worship the ground she walks on.

Truthfully, Mayumi acted like she didn't care about her parents not being around but deep down, she wanted someone to tell her things were going to be okay and not to worry her pretty little head about a thing. She wanted someone to hold her and let her cry on their shoulder when things weren't going right in her life. She wanted someone to be there for her, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Yeah, she had her friends and they were the best support system in the world but it was different from her having her parents.

Mayumi's phone pinged from the bedroom and she left Amaru in the bathroom to retrieve it. Grabbing her phone she scanned over the incoming call and decided to answer.

"What do you want?"

"Good morning." The deep, raspy baritone voice sounded.

Her cheeks lifted and a red blush covered her face as the butterflies in her stomach swarmed like a hive of bees.

"Good morning. I lost you last night where did you go?" Mayumi settled back on the bed and wrapped herself back in the thick blanket holding the phone to her ear like a school girl.
