•TAMONIE laughed, amused by one of Cartier's million attempts at jokes. He didn't have a humorous bone in his body which made it funnier. Cartier asked Phoebe out to lunch, his treat, at a small cafe called Russels. The cafe sat beside two gardens, filled with all types of vivacious and blooming flowers. It enhanced the aura of the cafe.
"I can't believe you're terrible at telling jokes. Literally no one is that bad." Moni chuckled again, taking a sip of her coffee.
"I'm not that bad, stop playing." Cartier frowned.
"You make me laugh though so it's cute." Phoebe said without thinking, quickly blushing after.
Cartier smirked and slid his chair closer to Moni. He liked the vibes she gave off, they were intoxicating in a good way. His phone binged as Phoebe got up to get another yogurt parfait.
He checked his phone, already knowing whom was texting him. His wife. She was questioning him on where he was at and he told her he had more business to deal with. Cartier knew he was risking everything by going on a date with Moni. But for the moment, he didn't care. He got to be his corny, lame self with her. He enjoyed not having to act a certain way or pretending to like this and that. She connected with the real Carter.
Moni sat back down and dug into her parfait, eating spoonful after spoonful.
Cartier watched her, fascinated with her lips. As they parted for another spoonful, Cartier had to have a taste so he leaned over the table, cupped her chin, and kissed her slowly with no hesitation. On the other hand, Moni's eyes bugged out. It took her a minute to relax and she ended up placing her hand on his face and returning the favor. Their lips and tongues massaged each others intimately, they didn't care about the other people in the cafe at this point.
All they could think about were.. fireworks.
Moni, being the first one to pull away, held her chest until she gained her breath back. Cartier smiled widely using his thumb to smear her lip gloss off of his lips.
"That was very... unexpected."
"I had to seize the moment." He chuckled.
She smiled and stared at Cartier's beautiful features. He was very handsome and his swagger was out of this world. Moni
He opened the door for her as they left to walk the streets of Atlanta. Cartier secured Moni's hand in his and she bumped into him every now and then, grinning like an absolute fool.
"Since I don't know anything about you, tell me about yourself Moni." Cartier spoke.
"I was born in Guatemala and I grew up here. I'm in school for early childhood education. It's been a dream of mine to work with kids and shape the world. I have three best friends and we all live together and um... I have never had a boyfriend." She mumbled the last part.
