The moonlight cut its way through the blinds, casting stripes shadows across Hoseok's face. His eyes were open, his mind unable to rest enough for him to sleep. He felt giddy, and full of energy, but with nothing to do and no-one to calm him down.
He thought about his flatmate, Min Yoongi. He wanted to go and climb into his bed, annoy him into wakefulness, suffer his withering stares, talk to him about nothing until 3am and finally be able to get to sleep, snuggled up to that slim frame. But things had been... different with Yoongi recently. He'd been even more distant and unreachable. Hoseok felt like he couldn't get him out of his shell like he'd been able to before. And he didn't even know what he'd done.
Hoseok sighed and opened his phone to read a book. Surely that would help him sleep?
10 minutes into And There Goes The Last Hoseok realised he had made a terrible mistake. This was by far the creepiest and most sinister book he'd ever read. Every shadow in the room became a ghost in his mind, every slight sound his final doom. He lay shaking in his bed for a few minutes, unable to read any more of that ghastly book. He thought about Yoongi again. Yes, that was what he needed. What he needed more than anything right now.
He turned on his phone flashlight and prepared to sprint to Yoongi's room. Just through his door, left down the corridor, into Yoongi's room. 3... 2... 1... go!
Like a crazed cat sprinting around at 2am, Hoseok ran into Yoongi's room, leaping on top of the covers and burying his face in Yoongi's chest.
"What the hell are you doing?" Yoongi groaned sleepily. "Get the hell out of my room man I need to sleep."
"I'm sorry Yoongi." Hoseok couldn't control the fear seeping into his voice. Yoongi's angry eyebrows softened.
"What's going on?"
"I couldn't sleep... so I tried reading..."
Yoongi sighed. "You weren't reading that murder mystery again, were you?"
Hoseok nodded into the pillow.
"You are such an idiot, Hobi. Come on." He lifted up the covers and let the younger boy crawl in next to him. "You know these books frighten you, why do you read them?"
Hoseok shrugged against him, his soft hair brushing Yoongi's chin. Without thinking, Yoongi kissed the younger boy's forehead. Hoseok started, and looked up at his friend. They held each other's gaze for a moment. A blush blossomed on Hoseok's cheeks as he stared at Yoongi. He dropped his gaze, embarrassed, but Yoongi gently lifted his chin and brushed his lips with his own. Hoseok forgot all about how afraid the book had made him. In fast, he forgot everything. In that moment, with Yoongi's lips on his, nothing else seemed to matter at all. Yoongi moved his hand from Hoseok's chin to brush through his hair. He rested his hand at the back of his neck, drawing Hoseok closer and deepening the kiss. When they finally broke apart, Yoongi kept his eyes closed.
"Sleep now, my sunshine." He said, drawing Hoseok close to him before drifting off to sleep.
