I awake to a knocking on my door. I stretch and get up. "Coming!" I open the door and it's Autumn. "Oh hey, how did you know I wasn't working today?" "I didn't!" "Okay, cool come in." She enters my apartment. "So what's your new job like?" I think back to everything that's happened. "Pretty boring. Just training right now." "Aw that sucks." "Yeah. Any new stories?" "Yeessss." Uh oh. "Autumn. You didn't." "I'm sorry it's just so cliché!" "Autumn what did I say about you writing me into your stories?" "I know but come onnnnnnnn." I can't help but find it amusing.

"Did you hear about the light festival, I thought maybe we could go." Autumn asks. "What is it?" "Well it's kinda what it sounds like. Basically it's a fair. The hold it on the boardwalk and set up shops and little games. They hang fairy lights and before it closes you can pay like $5 to set off lanterns over the ocean. You like write messages on them. For lost loved ones, dreams, goals, secrets. I used to go when I was little." "That sounds really nice. When is it?" "Um I think in about two weeks. It normally starts at 6 and ends around midnight." "Yeah that seems pretty cool I'll go."

She nudged me. "Maybe you could bring Luciel?" I roll my eyes. "I'm not sure if he'd want to go but I guess I'll ask him." "Yay!' I laugh. "So how was work yesterday?" I ask her. "It was the same old. Though I did have one of the interns hit on me but he's like right out of high school." "Oh yikes." "Yeah, I know. How about you?" "It was fine just training. Luciel gave me my first paycheck so we went out for dinner but he wound up paying." "Dude!" "What?" "He totally has the hots for you!" I don't think I can tell her that basically he owns me so he's going to treat me well cause even if I left out the whole ruler of the underworld, it would still sound bad.
"Shut up." She laughed at me. "An office romance? How cheeky." Oh great here she goes. She starts rambling about some scenarios but eventually stops to breathe. "Okay, Autumn chill out. He's just my boss." I guess I could call him my friend. Would he call me his friend? Probably not. "Whatever, the more you deny it, the juicier it is for me." She laughs. My phone rings. It's Luciel. Autumn mouths to put it on speaker. I put it on speaker. "Hello Emmy. Did you get enough sleep? I'm sorry to call you on your day off. I just wanted to check up. We did stay up all night." He chuckled and I quickly took it off speaker and put it up to my ear and rushed to the bathroom. "Luciel, thank you. Yes I'm fine. How are you?" "Honestly I didn't sleep very long. I think it's that whole body clock thing." "That sucks. Did you call just to check up on me?" "Pretty much." "Well that's very nice of you to do Luciel. Now I feel bad for not calling you first." "Oh it's quite okay. Would you like to go get coffee together?" "Well I'm with Autumn right now actually." "I'm not on speaker right?" "No..." "Emma" "Not anymore. " "Okay, well I'll let you get back to it. Buh bye!" "Bye Luciel." I end the call and sigh.

I open the door to see Autumn at the door. She looks like a kid on Christmas. "I can explain." "Oh he's so sweet! Checking up on you! Making sure you get enough sleep!" I sigh. "Yeah I guess it was pretty nice." "Um, Emmy." U h o h. "Yes....?" "WHAT DID YOU TWO DO ALL LAST NIGHT?!" She seemed to be bursting with excitement. "Gosh you're embarrassing me stop. After dinner it was pretty late so he walked me home. It started to rain so I invited him in and let him dry off. I turned on a movie and we both just got invested in it. We started talking and it happened to last until sun rise. It's not a big deal." I shrug. "Yes it is! This is similar to a scenario I had written about you two!" "You did what?!" "Except in my scenario he liked protected you from someone who was trying to steal your purse and it ended with more than just a conversation." "Did you fucking write a smut. Please tell me you-""I did." "I hate you."

After she spoke about the story she stood up. "Well I think I've embarrassed you enough, I'll be heading out. I have a date." "Wait, I thought you wanted me to invite Luciel to the festival for you, if you're going on a date then why did- oh." She nodded. "Yup!" "Great.  Try not to scare him off." "h a h a v e r y f u n n y. I don't want to be late." "Yeah yeah see ya!" "Good day Emmy!" She left. I still feel pretty tired. I wonder. I try to summon the sword but it doesn't seem to work. Maybe I don't have enough energy. I try to manifest money. I'm able to do that. I wonder what else I can do. I hope I'll be able to teleport too but that might just be a power for him. I don't want to try to do anything without him incase something goes wrong. I guess there isn't much for me to do. I wonder what Luciel is doing. Probably demon overlord stuff. (He's totally just playing video games.) I suppose I could just go back to sleep. I eat some breakfast and then head to bed.
