We pulled up outside the worn-down house, this was where the address had led us. Like many things I had already noted, this house was much different from the way I watched it on TV the camera no longer distorting my view.
I looked over at Dean and offered him a small smile before opening the car door and stepping out.
This 'not knowing' was exhausting. I never seemed to know how things were going to go or how to act or what to say.
But I guess there's no time for that now. Not when Dean and I were now at the door with his finger lifting up from the bell from where he had just pushed.
Chuck appeared in the doorway, as the door slowly opened.
I stood there waiting silently wondering whether it would be Dean or Chuck who was going to speak first. Time seemed to trickle by as the time slowly passed, though it had probably only been 30 seconds or so.
"Aren't you going to invite us in? You know who that is" I said directly to Chuck nodding to the left of me where Dean stood quietly brooding. "And I'm almost sure that you'll know who I am" Chuck scanned over both of us, as we stood on the porch expectantly.
Still not seemingly any more the wiser he simply said "No"
I tilted my head to the side attempting to read whether he was telling the truth or not, even though I didn't even know if a God could have a tell. When I still couldn't decide for sure I introduced us "My names Freya and this is Dean. Dean Winchester, from your books, maybe you were expecting both Sam and Dean to turn up today" he seemed to deliberate for a moment before opening the door wide enough for us to walk through into the house.
As we walked past him he began to talk again "Winchester? But I didn't put the brothers' last names in the book, I didn't even write it down. How do you know it?"
"Well, there's only one explanation. Obviously, you're a god." I mocked tilting my head to the side staring at him waiting for a response.
Right then Castiel turned up in the living room where we all stood.
"Dean..." Castiel said with a confused look on his face. "Why am I here? Why did you pray for me?" Still quite obviously confused Castiel looked around the room, I assumed he was trying to gather his senses. His eyes rested on me for a millisecond before finding Chuck. "How do you know Chuck?"
"So, you know him Castiel? Who is he?" Dean obviously didn't trust the information that I had told him about Chuck if he had prayed for Castiel to be here.
I stood quietly waiting hoping that somehow Castiel had the right information, unlike last time, however, I was sadly disappointed when he vocalized simply that Chuck was a Prophet of the Lord.
"He's not." I blurted out, interjecting.
"The list of prophets from the past, present and future have been imprinted on my mind. I know who the prophets are. Who is the girl, Dean?" Castiel countered, scrunching his face slightly and tipped his head to the side in a questioning manner.
"Chuck give it up. I know who you are, just switch on the damn necklace Dean is wearing. I'm sure Cas would love to meet his dad for the first time." When nothing varied in any of their faces, I continued. "Look I don't know if you know who I am or not but here goes nothing, the universe that I come from Dean and Sam aren't real. Their lives are a TV show. However, here I am in a world that I didn't think existed with a God that I didn't think existed either. The TV show I watched is further on in the future than where we are now, the Sam and Dean I know of have saved the world too many times to count and even saved your sister. I don't know if that means anything to you but it meant something to you once. I'm asking you to just show Dean and Castiel here that you are God so that I can prove myself. I am not asking you to help humanity all I ask is that you allow them to see that I am who I say I am so that I can help them, where I can."
"God has a sister?"
"Seriously Dean, that is all you took from that?" I glared at Dean baffled as to his thought process to choose that as his question.
Chuck looked over both me and Dean before snapping his fingers together. The necklace around Dean's neck burned blindingly brilliant, Dean fisted the necklace in his hand and pulled it from his neck hissing in pain as he did so. My neck snapped toward Dean wondering what had caused his pain but was quickly reminded that the pendent burned as hot as it did brightly.
My eyes travelled from the pendant on the floor that was flooding light to chucks half-smiling face.
"God? Father?" Castiel took one step forward as he observed Chuck in a new light.
"I prefer the name Chuck now. Hello, Castiel" Chuck closed the distance between us all. I blinked and when my eyes reopened all four of us were in the bunker.
