Due to all the deaths from The Night Phantom, William's funeral was a week and a few days after his death. I met his family and told them what happened after his death, then told them when the funeral could be held and they agreed to have the funeral on that date. So, now it's the day. I wore a dark suit along with black gloves, a hatband and a cravat, then went to the church, which was the place his family wanted to have the funeral. I greeted his family and his mother hugged me. "He talked about you so much," she sobbed and pulled away from the hug. "We were close," was all I could say to her.
After a little while, I stood up to give my eulogy. "For those of you who do not know me, my name is Philip and I am one of William's best mates and work partner. It is with great sadness that I stand in front of you today to celebrate the life of my dear friend. Will's life was taken away from us too soon and it is hard to understand why tragic things like this happen to such good people. However, this is a question without an answer and we shall not dwell on the loss of our dear friend, son and brother. Today let's celebrate his life and remember all of the remarkable things William accomplished and how wonderful his life was," I said a paused for a second to wipe my tears and take a deep breath. "William and I met in the police station on his first day of work since we were partners. I remember he was running and once he got into the station, he fell. He's always been a little clumsy, heh. We bonded instantly and I helped him with work by giving him tips and advice. He shared stories with me and definitely had an sense of humor. Our personalities just fit each other, like a piece in a puzzle, both pieces are different yet they still fit together. I could even say he was my soulmate. He was always there when I needed help or someone to talk to, within a week of knowing him, he showed up at my house on Christmas to make sure I wasn't alone. Erm... while I continue my detective work, I will think about Will with fond memories and appreciate getting to know him so well," I said and had to wipe my eyes and calm myself down before I could continue speaking. "William was incredibly responsible, intelligent and caring. I knew that I could trust him with anything and I respected him more than words can say... It is incredibly sad that William's life ended so soon and I cannot put into words how much I will miss him. He was always a positive person and would not want us to be sad today. If he were here he would tell us to cheer up, smile and remember all of the great memories we all shared. Even though William may be gone, his memory will live on in all of us forever. Will... I appreciate your friendship and shall never forget you."
