Well, I'm back to carry on with this story! I have so much planned for this book and I am so excited to share it with you.
Yes, I've put this chapter up again but it's the start of this story and it will just remind you what's happened after a year.
I will still carry on with my other book My Guardian Demon, I'm just going to put a schedule up for it instead.
I will try to post a chapter up for this story nearly every day, and for My Guardian Demon, I will upload a few every weekend. Sometimes that may change depending on what days I work and how much time I have.
I really hope you all enjoy this book and leave as much feedback as you can, I appreciate the help!

It's been a year since we moved to Canada, and it's been the best year of my life. Choosing to start over here was the most incredible decision I could have made for us. Ryan and I are happier than ever. Our relationship blossomed after the birth of my daughter, as we wanted to focus solely on her arrival while I was pregnant.
I never knew I was capable of loving someone as deeply as I love her. She is my light, my joy, and every time I see her smile, I'm reminded that leaving behind her father and all the dangers tied to him was the best choice I've ever made.
She made her entrance into the world on her own terms—fashionably late, stubborn, and full of spirit, just like her mum. We named her Mila Dove Carter. "Mila" honors my brother Miles, though I couldn't bring myself to give her his exact name. Instead, we chose something close. "Dove" reflects the Scottish meaning of Callum's name, a quiet tribute to the man who means so much to me.
She's my everything, the proof that love and strength can create something truly beautiful, even out of the hardest times.
She was born on the 22nd of May, on a bright, sunny morning that felt like a fresh start in more ways than one. Now, at seven months old, Mila is preparing to celebrate her very first Christmas surrounded by the people who love her most. My dad, Uncle, and Lily all made the move to Canada with us, eager for a new beginning but also determined to help me rebuild the Headhunters and reclaim our place at the top.
The only shadow in this new life is the way her eyes remind me of him. Every time I look into Mila's gaze, I see West staring back at me—his piercing intensity, his undeniable spirit. They're identical.
Some of my men who stayed behind in England to monitor things have told me that West has been searching for me.
He hasn't stopped.
Ryan was too clever for West. He made sure there wasn't a single thread left behind that could lead him to me. My dad did the same, cutting every possible tie and leaving no room for mistakes. Ryan isn't just my second-in-command; he's also the mastermind of my gang, the one who keeps us two steps ahead of anyone daring enough to challenge us.
