I dove into the steaming hot, large pizza I had gotten at the diner for Aliyah and I. I looked up from my piece of pizza, and saw her looking like a deer in headlights.
"Come on! Eat some food. I spent 15 bucks."
"I just haven't tried pizza before."
"Seriously? You've never had pizza?! Like ever!!?"
"Nope. Not one little nibble."
"I'm changing that. Take the slice, and start eating from the tip."
Aliyah took the pizza and took a tiny bite off of the top corner. She grinned.
"This is the best food ever! Is it healthy?"
"Not at all."
"Perfection!"
I chuckled and stuck two straws into a chocolate milkshake.
"Hey." I said passing her the cup. "Do you wanna drink it together?"
"Why?"
"Please! I can't drink this large milkshake all by myself." I responded, giving her my puppy dog face.
She laughed and took a sip of the drink with me. I began blowing bubbles in the shake like a kid.
Aliyah giggled softly, and let out a huge belch.
"Woah!"
"What, Luciifer?"
"You almost burp louder than I do."
"Is that some sort of a challenge?"
"Yeah." I replied, letting out the biggest burp that I could concoct.
Obviously, she out-belched me soon after.
"See! I knew I had better burps than you."
"Whatever."
She smirked, and we scarfed down all our food. Two pizzas, a milkshake, and large fries were now resting safe in our digestive system.
Aliyah wanted some fresh air, so I reluctantly followed.
She sat on a bench by the diner, and I took the empty spot next to her.
The night was gorgeous. The stars honestly looked more amazing than I had ever seen them. They looked like the stars from the piece, Starry Nights. Damn, that girl is rubbing off on me.
She was staring at me, and I thought now was the best time to ask.
"What happened to your legs? How'd you lose them?"
She sighed softly, and pressed a small peck to my lips.
"Sorry, I had to before I tell this story."
