"My Daughter. Alas, we meet."

I was staring into the deep threatening red eyes of the man I have come to know as my father. Before now, he was almost a myth. I always knew I would meet him, especially after the rumored return of him rising again to finish what he started years ago. He was tall and his stature represented one of a skeletons. He removed his hood and if he was Ince handsome, there is no trace left today. His skin was so pale it was opaque, dark blue veins stuck out clearly under his skin. His face was flattened and almost snake-like. Easily compared to the large serpent that crawled its way onto the table.

"Madison Merope Riddle." My father said softly but still with great power. He got up from his seat and he swiftly made his way over to me.

I tensed up when he began to get close to me. I was so scared that I barely noticed everyone I greeted before sitting around the table. Most of them were staring at their hands, not making eye contact with me.

A long boney finger grasped my face and a small gasp came out of my mouth.

"No need to be frightened, young one. I shall not hurt you." He told me while moving my head in his hands, examining it. "Yes, you have grown up quite nicely. You will do fine."

He stared directly into my eyes and I could feel his gaze all the way to the back of my head. It was almost like he was trying to figure out what I was thinking. "You have a lot of energy, doesn't she Lucius?"

Lucius perked up from his seat that I didn't even notice he took, "Yes M'lord. She also learned great values and morals from myself and my wife. We have raised her like our own."

"Malfoy values and my values could be very different, Lucius." he let go of my face, one of his nails scrapping my face as he did. "But, she has much to learn."

The large serpent has made its way off the table and has begun wrapping around my ankles.

"Lesson that cannot be taught at that school you sent her and your son to, Lucius." He turned to Lucius as he addressed him.

"I believed it would be better to not hide the children, to not raise suspicion." Narcissa cut into the avail of her husband.

"Very well. She shall continue...for now." He looked at me again. "Nagini, Don't frighten her more than she is."

The snake moved away from my feet.

"Madison, my Daughter. Have they been treating you well? The Malfoy's." I looked quickly to Narcissa and Lucius. "Tell your answer to my friend, Nagini, and they will not understand you. We process a gift that I can see you are not aware of. You have much to learn about yourself yet."

I looked hesitantly back up at my father and then to the serpent who was now looking at me as well, "They have been kind but firm with me. I am very happy here."

"Good, you are dismissed, but I want you to know that you must prepare yourself to be a part of our organization."

"Yes, Father." I agreed even though I was unsure if I was ready.

"Severus?" He looked back toward the table. "I trust in you to look after her and the boy while they are at school this year. Protect them, even if it's from themselves. Treat them as your own."

"Yes, My lord." Severus looked up at me and I couldn't read what he was feeling.

"Leave us, then, My Daughter." I didn't miss a beat as I quickly turned and left the drawing room, pushing the door close as I fell to the floor, panting like I've run several miles in that room.

Draco and the others were just leaving the clean ballroom when they spotted me. I wildly looked to them, but it wasn't until I saw Draco's eyes that tears began falling from mine. I couldn't cry in front of them, that wasn't me. I got up quickly and ran up the staircase and straight to my room.
