The Proposal

      it's now 8 month's into their relationship and khamis has been looking for a way to talk to her about marriage. She's now in her second semester and will soon be in 200 level.

   
      Many thoughts of how her reaction will be have been running through his head, what if she doesn't accept?.

      His relatives have been bothering him about marriage and he really do love firdausi but he will have no choice but to get married to another girl and have children if she doesn't accept him.

    That wasn't going to be easy though but he knew what his family were capable of and so he has to act fast.

     He picked his phone and dialed her number, he has no idea how he is going to say it but he has to.

"hello" her melodious and heart touching voice came through

"princess how are you doing?" he asked

"am fine love, you?" he felt his heart melt at the name she called him. Can his love for this girl ever fade?

"am absolutely fine baby"

"am happy to hear that"

"princess can we go out later in the day please?"

"yeah sure"

"okay, I'll pick you up by 4"

"that's okay but where are we going?

"it's a surprise"

"okay, can't wait"

"see you by 4 then"

"aha"

"I love you"

"love you more. Bye"

He dropped the phone on his vanity table and walked downstairs, he met zahra laughing on the phone with only God knows who.

"where's everyone?"he asked

"at the gazebo"she said pointing out

He moved outside quietly and met his parents taking coffee inside the gazebo. He joined them and helped himself with the coffee.

"khamis when are you planning to settle down,son you are not getting any younger." his father said

"yes son your father is right you are 27,with a good job. Don't you think it's time to settle down?" his mom added.

"ummita calm down. I'll settle soon insha Allah,besides we've spoken with Abbie about that" he said looking at his dad.

"Toh Allah ya sa, do you even have a girlfriend"

"yeah i do and she's a very nice, good looking and well mannered Fulani girl.zahra can testify to that" khamis said proudly

"really, i can't wait to meet her then" ummita said happily

"soon insha Allah"

The day passed in a blur and it was time for khamis to pick firdausi up. He became nervous and couldn't eat lunch.

"khamis are you okay?" ummita asked worried

"ummita am fine don't worry about me just eat"

"if you say so"

"yaya where are you going to all dressed up?" zahra asked when he was about to leave

"am going out and you don't need to know where am going to" he said in a serious voice

"khamis when will you ever be nice to your sister?" his dad asked

"daddy you pamper her alot so if I'm not hard she's going to spoil" khamis said looking at zahra
