Sujeong felt lightheaded as she woke up. She slowly sat up and saw that she's in a different place.
What is this place? Where am I?
She asked herself. She tried recalling what happened earlier.
She remembered finding a part time job to earn money to pay for her rent, she remebered not finding a job, she remembered how here classmate Eunseo summoned her to school, she remebered her professors giving her a hard time with her requirements, she remembered walking down the streets of Seoul with just the money enough for her dinner and hell she was hungry, and she remembered passing out and after that she can't remember anything.
She sat on the edge of the bed and was about to stand up when she felt her feet all sore from the walking. She walked nonstop throughout the day, cafe after cafe she went, going round and round in the campus looking for her professors and lastly walking for 20 minutes on her way home. Her feet were extremely sore and exhausted.
She flinched as she massaged her feet.
She heard the door open and a woman in her forties entered the room.
"Oh, you're awake." She said a matter of fact as she walked towards Sujeong's bed.
Sujeong didn't notice the tray she was holding when she entered the room not until the scent of newly cooked food hit her nostrils and she felt herself hungry all over again.
"I have this thought that you were hungry. Your stomach kept on grumbling while you were sleeping." The woman said as she smiled at Sujeong.
Sujeong hid her face in embarrassment.
"Its okay dear. Being hungry is normal." The woman placed the tray on the bed.
"Here eat. You look pale." The woman said in a motherly way.
Sujeong felt safe although the woman in front of her is a complete stranger and the harm she may bring to her.
The woman handed Sujeong the spoon. Sujeong slowly took the spoon from the woman and slowly spooned some soup.
Sujeong bought the spoon to her lips while looking at the stranger in front of her.
The woman smiled and urged her to eat. When the spoon entered her mouth, and let the soup dance in her tongue, she groaned in satisfaction at the explosion of flavors on her tongue .
"It's delicious. " Sujeong commented as she smiled at woman.
The woman smiled back at her.
"Eat some more." The woman said and Sujeong happily obliged.
How she missed home cooked food, she grew tired of the taste of the food she ordered everytime.
She missed her mother's cooking.
"Slow down my dear. You might choke. There's enough food, no need to hurry." The woman said quite amused at Sujeong.
Sujeong nodded her head as she took a bite of the rice pancake.
She heard the woman chuckled.
Sujeong swallowed the food and drank some water. She placed her spoon down.
The woman looked at her curiously.
"May I ask where am I?" Sujeong asked.
"You're at Kim's residences." The woman said.
"And I'm Mrs Lee. One of the helpers in this house. You might be wondering why your here. Aren't you?" She asked Sujeong.
Sujeong slowly nodded her head.
"I went to the grocery store to buy some ingredients since we ran out of it and on our way home I saw you walking and you suddenly passed out. We stopped the car and I checked your condition you were so pale. I looked around to see if someone's with you but there's no one. I don't know where you're living so I just brought you here." Mrs Lee explained.
Mrs Lee then looked at the tray of food she prepared.
"Are you not going to eat?" She asked feeling down.
Sujeong frantically shaked her head.
"No, I'm still going to eat. I just want to ask you about how I ended up here Mrs. Lee." Sujeong said.
"Mrs Lee?" Mrs Lee raised a brow.
"You're making me feel to old. Just call me Auntie as you also remind me of my niece." Mrs Lee said smiling warmly at Sujeong.
Sujeong smiled.
"Yes auntie." She replied as she continued eating.
Sujeong had a heartful meal. She never felt so full after living for year by herself, she relied on instant noodles and food deliveries the whole year and sometimes the kimchi, Yein's mother prepared for her that she eats in small portions to make it last long.
"Just stay for the evening will you Sujeong." Mrs Lee said as it was pretty late and Sujeong wants to go home to her apartment.
"I will be fine Auntie. I can just take a cab home, there are also a lot of patrol cars around our area there won't be any problem." Sujeong said.
"I insist." Mrs Lee said concerned.
Sujeong stared at the older woman's face and felt guilty. She helped her and all and yet she can't return the favor of staying for the night.
After all its already pass midnight.
Sujeong heaved a sigh and smile.
"Alright auntie, I'll stay." Sujeong said and with that Mrs Lee smiled
Morning came so fast, and now Sujeong is getting ready to leave.
Mrs Lee the stranger who became like Sujeong's mother for a night saw Sujeong grabbing her things.
"You leaving already?" Mrs Lee asked and Sujeong nodded her head with a smile.
Mrs Lee returned her smile she went to Sujeong and gave her a paper bag.
"Take this dear."
Sujeong took the bag from Mrs Lee's hands and peaked inside.
There she saw a few lock and lock containers containing home cooked meals.
Sujeong looked at Mrs Lee with gratitude.
"Thank you so much Mrs Lee. " Sujeong said sincerely.
"I don't know how to pay you back with the kindness you showed me." She added.
Mrs Lee smiled. A smile that has a deeper meaning to it.
"You will my dear, you can repay the kindness I showed you once your paths cross again. "
Mrs Lee's words kept on playing on Sujeong's head.
What does she mean by that? Who's path will cross with mine?
Sujeong shaked his thoughts of as she started walking towards the gate of the mansion.
Sujeong smiled at the guards and the guards smiled back at her.
Sujeong walked pass the gate when she saw a black Lamborghini Aventador approaching her direction.
She didn't mind it as she was walking on the sidewalk.
The car drove pass Sujeong.
Sujeong not being aware that Taehyung was the one driving the car, the one who saved her from being kicked out in streets.
And Taehyung didn't notice Sujeong who is the girl she helped before.
The two not being aware that their paths crossed again but they're not meant to meet yet.
But soon.
