—Clarke picked at her fingernails.
"Are you even going to help?" Raven sneered. Clarke rolled her eyes, placing her hands where they were formerly, in her lap.The two girls were in the dropship working on a way to radio back to the ark. Raven and Clarke were best friends even though sometimes they didn't act like they were.
"Are you almost done?" Clarke asked, ignoring Raven's question.
"Well if you weren't so distracted, you would've noticed that this isn't exactly easy."As Clarke was about to give a sarcastic reply, Monty entered the room. "Hey, Clarke, Bellamy's outside, he's asking for you," He informed her.
"Bellamy? What does he want?" Clarke asked.
"I'm not sure, but he doesn't seem happy. You better get out here," The boy pleaded before pulling back the curtain and making a swift exit from the ship."I'll be back," Clarke stated, "it's probably nothing."
"No need," Raven scoffed, "you weren't helping anyway."Clarke ignored the remark and made her way outside.
Bellamy was right outside of the exit, pacing back and forth, Murphy was watching with his arms crossed. Just like Bellamy, he looked pissed."Finally," Murphy called, uncrossing his arms.
Bellamy stopped pacing and stomped his way over to Clarke. "If you don't get your boyfriend under control, I'm going to kill him!" Bellamy blurted. Although he wasn't her boyfriend, Clarke knew he was talking about Wells.
"What's happened?" She asked calmly.
"He's trying to reattach wristbands," Murphy called, stepping in for his friend. The wristband nonsense had been going on since they landed and Clarke had had enough.
"Why do you even care!" She snapped, causing Bellamy to take a step back, "Just leave him alone. He's helping his people unlike you two, so back. off."
Murphy came forward. "So what happens when the ark lands? We all go back to following the chancellor's orders? Floating people for nothing!" Murphy raged.
"I'm not saying-"
"Yes, Clarke, you are! You're saying that your dad died for nothing! That we can't start a new life here!" Bellamy butted in, poking Clarke between her collar bones. She pushed him backwards.
"Do not bring my father into this!" She yelled before flouncing back into the dropship, leaving the two boys more angry than they were."What now?" Murphy asked, turning towards Bellamy.
"If I don't take my anger out on something, it's not going to be pretty," Bellamy said before stomping off towards the camp's exit.
"Where are you going?" Murphy shouted after him.—
Wells was sat around the back of the dropship, fiddling with a wristband. He knew Bellamy was pissed but he couldn't help but do what he thought was right for his people. Wells placed the wristband on the ground and leaned back against the cool metal of the ship. He'd never had a mind for mechanics but he knew someone who did.
Wells stood up, brushing off his pants and stuffing the wristband back into his pocket. As he was about to go find Raven, he saw a shadow move in the woods ahead. "Uh, hello?" He called. No answer. "Bellamy is that you? I know you're pissed but we can figure something out, right?" No answer.—
"-and he just annoys me so much. Why can't he give it a break?" Clarke vented. She turned to Raven, who had her back turned.
"Clarke will you be quiet for just a second? Do you want to see your mom again or not?" The mechanic shouted. Clarke stopped talking.
"Dammit, the wristband's fried!" Clarke looked over Raven's shoulder to see hours worth of work destroyed.
"There's no more left," Raven threw the piece of metal across the room, breaking it into two pieces as it hit the wall. "I'm useless." Clarke took a seat beside the brunette. "Hey, it's okay," she said, "Wells took a few from Bellamy, I could go ask him if he could spare one."
Raven shifted in her seat and smiled at Clarke.
"Thanks, princess."—
"Bellamy, how much further do we have to walk?" Murphy moaned, dragging his feet.
"You didn't have to follow me," Bellamy recalled. John rolled his eyes.
"Fine then, I'm going back."
Bellamy stopped walking.
"Murphy, shush," the boy whispered.
"Don't tell me to-" John suddenly noticed what had caught Bellamy's attention.
A grounder.
"C'mon lets go back, it's dead anyway," John grumbled, frowning like a child when it's parents deny them candy. Bellamy crouched down and placed his hand on the grounder, feeling for a pulse.
"Bellamy stop, let's go."
"He's alive."
"Then that's more of a reason to turn back while we still can," John moaned, frowning at his friend once again.
"Think about it John, he's a grounder. We could use him."
"What for are you crazy?"
"To wipe out the grounders."—
Clarke had been searching for Wells but there seemed to be no trace of him anywhere.
"Hey Jasper, have you seen Wells?" Clarke asked her friend.
"Uh, I think he's behind the ship, trying to rewire a wristband," The boy with the goggles replied.
She thanked him and made her way behind the ship."Wells?" Clarke called as she entered the clearing behind their home. "Wel-"
Clarke's words were cut off as she caught sight of an 'R' written in blood on the ship.
Wells' body was placed underneath it.
Clarke screamed.————
