Present time

Emily sighs as she opened the door of her apartment and saw the blonde infront of her with apologetic eyes.
"Can we talk?" Hanna asked and for a few seconds she thought Emily would close the door on her face, but the brunette surprisingly stepped aside letting Hanna get inside.

"Look, it's been two days since our fight Emily. You know we've never been able to stay mad at eachother for long. It's killing me to be like this with you." Hanna said as she leaned against the kitchen counter as Emily ate her breakfast.
"It was killing me hearing you say those stuff as well, but did you care?" Emily's voice was cold.

Hanna lowered her head and played with her fingers. Emily who wanted to be mad at the blonde, couldn't help but feel bad at the sight infront of her.
"Hanna, it's not easy you know? To survive the day when I lost the person I cared so much for. I know it wasn't really smart of me to drink and yes I was about to make a mistake, but it wasn't on purpose." Emily said, her voice was softer now.

Hanna looked up at her friend with tears in her eyes,
"I am really sorry Emily, I was too harsh and instead of scolding you, I should've asked if you were okay and needed help."
Emily nodded with a small smile,
"A hug would've been nice too."

Hanna chuckled as a tear left her eyes. She stood up and opened her arms for the brunette who wiped the tear away before hugging her bestfriend.
"I love you Em, I just want you to be safe."
Emily pulled away and smiled,
"I'm fine. And I love you too Han."

"Uhm Emily, I also came here to tell you something." Hanna said, a little of nervousness in her voice.
"What is it?" The brunette asked.

"As you know Cece went to New York because of our work, and I didn't went with her because of, you know." Hanna tried to avoid the night that had caused the fight that the two girls had just solved. Emily just nodded, telling the blonde to keep talking.
"She, well she called me last night to give me an update and she told me, that she found someone there."

Emily shrugged slightly, she had no idea who Hanna was talking about,
"Okay?"

"She found Aria..." As Hanna said the petite brunette's name, Emily froze right there,
"...and A-"
"Alison." For the first time in 7 years, the brunette said that name. And she didn't know if what she was feeling inside was happiness, sadness or maybe even both.

Hanna nodded slowly,
"Yeah. Apparently they're living there."

Emily tried to push all this information aside, Alison was living just a few hours away, so close yet so far.
"Good for them. Thanks for telling me..."

An awkward silence filled the room and it was only interrupted when someone knocked on the door.
Emily opened it to be met by Spencer who smiled widely seeing that Hanna was also there.
"I see you two solved your problem."

The two other girls just gave her a quick smile.
"Or maybe not. What's wrong?"
When Spencer saw the look Hanna was giving Emily, almost like a 'Who's gonna tell her?',
the taller girl snapped her fingers and raised an eyebrow,
"Hello?"

Emily inhaled deeply before speaking,
"Cece went to New York and found some people. Hanna just told me who."

"Okay, who?" The brunette asked and looked between her two friends.
"Alison, and Aria." This time it was Hanna who spoke and Spencer widened her eyes.
