A few weeks had passed since Spencer helped Alison for her test, and also since Emily and Ali spoke for the last time. Now they just said a shy 'hi' in the halls of Rosewood High. Neither one of them could forget the other but also didn't have the courage to take the first step.

There was something that scared both of them. They barely knew eachother, they only had 2 actual conversations, but still, there was something that kept their minds focused on eachother. Ever since the day at the cemetery, Emily couldn't stop thinking about the blonde, how she looked in such a deep pain, and even though they were complete strangers back than, Emily felt this urge to go to the blonde and hug her. Crazy right?

And Alison couldn't stop but feel more and more curious about Emily. There was something in the brunette's eyes that kept Alison's need to get closer to Emily stronger. She could tell the other girl was hiding something, something that hurt her deeply, and she wanted to help.

"Spencer, it's just like 30 minutes, don't worry." Emily said trying to convince her friend to let her leave the Hastings' house.
"Don't worry? Emily you can't go back to your house. Not alone." Spencer pleaded, she really had a bad feeling about this.

"Look, my dad isn't even home right now, he never is at this hour. The only person I'll find is my mom and I can handle her." Emily said as she put her hand on the slightly taller brunette's shoulder,
"Look, you have to go with your parents to that lunch. I'm already pushing it by spending here almost every night. If you don't go because of me they'll be really pissed and it will be my fault. I'll go to my house, pick up the things I need and in half an hour I'm back here. Okay? I'll text you when I'm back."

Spencer knew there was no way to change her friend's mind, so she sighed deeply and gave in,
"Fine, but if in 30 minutes I don't have any news from you, I'll go to your house myself."

Emily chuckled,
"Don't worry. I'll be just fine."

As Emily reached her front door, her hands were shaking making it difficult for her to open up the front door. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before finally turning the key and entering the house.
She swallowed hard when she heard noises coming from the kitchen.

"Wayne?" The brunette's mom called, Emily couldn't move or speak as memories of the last time she was here came to her mind.

Suddenly Pam's figure came to sight and Emily regained her strength,
"I came to pick up a few things. I'll be gone before you know it."

She didn't wait for a response and made her way upstairs to her room. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding as she closed the door behind her. Quickly she started packing her clothes, she hadn't any intentions of coming back, so she was gonna take all she could and never put one foot in that house again.
Ten minutes passed and she was good to go, she made her way to the door of her room and as her hand was on the knob, she heard a male voice from downstairs.
Had her mother called him?
"No no no no." The girl started to panic, her heart racing like everytime her father came close to her angrily.

The sound of the voices were muffled and she couldn't understand what they were saying, but she wasn't really interested anyway. She didn't know what to do, by now her mom had probably told Wayne that their daughter was home.
Emily's only escape was to jump out the window, and as she heard footsteps coming from downstairs, she knew it was now or never.
