And that's how she found herself at a nightclub the next Friday night looking for a guy she knew nothing about. Jordan had said his name was Ned and was a client who had bought an enormous property and was supposedly very rich. Penny walked up to the bouncer and told him her name hoping that it was on the list. If it wasn't, there was no way she was going to wait in line for an hour for a date that she's never met. Luckily when she said her name the bouncer smiled and let her past him.

Penny climbed the few steps up and gaped at the hip club. People everywhere were dancing on top of each other; there was even a cage where girls in silver bikinis shook their bodies. An attractive stranger was at the top of the stairs smiling down at her. She suddenly felt self-conscious in her sensible outfit next to girls wearing practically nothing. She was all covered up with a black dress, floral tights and an overcoat because it was late October and New York was getting chilly.

"You must be Penny." The stranger said his hand outstretched.

"That I am." He smiled and kissed her hand. Penny looked at him concerned. She didn't mean to be so skeptical. It had just been a long time since she had been on a real date. Ever since her breakup with Will she hadn't been too excited to see anyone else.

"Welcome to my club." He said, as Penny noticed how nice he was dressed. His suit had to have been tailored just for him with the way it fit so nicely.

"Your club? Wow, I had no idea. It looks great." He beamed and led her to the bar.

The date crept on as they sat making small talk on the bar stools. He was from Indiana originally and he made all his money on his own with no help from his parents. It did explain his gold chain necklace. He even made it a point to brag that he bought his mom a house on a lake. Although he never did go into detail on how he made his money.

But it took a turn when he rested his hand on her leg and started rubbing it up and down, being extremely forward. Penny squirmed under his touch. It wasn't until he asked her to come up to his apartment above the club when she actually felt uncomfortable. Sure he had his good traits and she could see why Jordan would set her up with him, but he was not someone she would actually date seriously or even fool around with.

"Uhh, shoot I totally forgot. My boss, you know Violet Bronte, I mentioned her to you, asked me to watch the store tonight since she has this runway show downtown, and it's almost, uhh nine, so I'll have to go." He didn't seem to buy it, but Penny didn't even give him the chance to say anything as she bolted out of there. When she got home she had to take ten showers just to get his arrogance to rub off of her.
