"Scarlett get your lazy butt up," my best friend, Emery, shouts hitting my head with a pillow.
I groan shoving my face into my pillow mumbling out the words "five more minutes."
"You said that 15 minutes ago," she rocks my body until I'm now awake and annoyed.
I sigh shoving the warm covers off my body dreading the day already. Seriously, who's idea was it to come to Denver for a getaway weekend in the middle of winter? Ever since we got here it's been rainy and cold, who wants to enjoy vacation with this weather?
"It's going to be the coldest today so make sure you wear the warmest clothes you got," Emery throws on her beanie fixing her hair.
"So instead of two layers of clothes I'll go with three," I mumble dragging my feet to the bathroom.
"Pretty much," she grins adding some lip gloss before finishing up the last touches.
Emery has always cared for her appearance, as for me I could care less what I looked like. Emery's mom is a perfectionist so it's not hard to tell Emery shares the same trait as her mom.
My mom on the other hand was the biggest slob you probably will ever met, but she never had any trouble finding the things she needed. Emery hates coming over to my house because "it's like a hoarder on steroids." is how she puts it, which honestly sounds about right.
My brothers, well you'll meet them later on and you'll see what she means by that.
"So this is our last day in this," Emery pauses as she tries to think of a nice word to describe Denver.
"Brumal," I mumble under my breath.
"Brumal land," she finishes chuckling at the end.
I smile putting on my jacket then my beanie. I hear my cellphone go off from behind me. Dean's ringtone blasts from the phones speaker.
"Come on the taxis waiting," Emery whispers throwing my bag at me.
"Hey D," I answer putting my bag on my back.
"Hey how's my favorite pumpkin," Dean groggily answers back.
"We're headed to get some breakfast," I walk out the hotel room following Emery down the hall.
"Must be nice getting a hot meal for free," he mumbles sighing.
"D don't worry nothing beats your food," I smile as we walk down the stairs.
"That's right and we'll keep it that way. Sam wants to talk to you," he passes the phone and I can hear them talk to each other.
"Hey baby," Sam answers joyfully.
"Hey Sammy is D driving you crazy,"
"Doesn't he always hurry up and get home," I chuckle rolling my eyes playfully.
When we get outside a blast of cold air hits me and I instantly tense up.
"Home sounds way better than Denver," I mumble getting in the taxi with Emery.
"What are you guys going to do today," He asks.
"I'm actually not sure, Hey Emery what are we doing today," I ask emery moving my phone away from my mouth a little.
"I think we're going shopping but I'll have to ask mom," Emery shrugs texting her mom.
"Probably shopping but with Emery's mom who knows," I bring the phone back up to my mouth.
"Well just be careful and keep us updated. I love you kid," Sam says before passing the phone back to Dean.
"I love you Sammy," I hear Dean mumble something as he gets he phone back.
"I love you scar and remember to get me pie," Dean speaks up into the phone.
"I love you D and don't worry I never forget the pie," I smile and hang up sighing.
My brothers drive me crazy sometimes with their overprotectiveness but I miss them like crazy. This is the longest that I've been away from them and I can't tell if I like it.
"Yeah mom says we're shopping today and our flight leaves at 10 tonight," Emery interrupts me from my thoughts again.
Hi I text my brothers what she told me and Dean sends a thumbs up with a pie emoji beside it.
I chuckle and put my phone back in my coat pocket. The taxi driver drops us off at the cafe we're suppose to be meeting Emery's mom at. Emery tips the driver then we walk inside.
I see Crystal, Emery's mom but I usually call her mom, sitting at a table by the window looking at a newspaper. We join her sitting across from her putting out bags in front of us.
"Good morning girls," Mom puts down the newspaper smiling at us.
"Hey mom can I ask you something real quick," Emery crosses her hands and places them in front of her.
"Sure kitten what's up,"
"So Scarlett and I was wondering if maybe today we could go to the winter bash they're having at the pier," Emery bats her eyes making a puppy dog face.
"You don't want to go shopping," Mom asks tilting her head a little.
"We do but this winter bash is suppose to be amazing and well we wanted to check it out before we left," Emery replies batting her eyes harder.
"Fine you can go but just be at the airport at 7," She points her finger at us smiling.
"Yay we promise thank you," Emery cheers jumping out of her chair to hug her mom.
Mom laughs kissing us both on the cheek.
"Love you girls," She says as we start heading out.
"Love you more," I reply waving back.
Emery and I lock arms as we head down the restaurant steps and haul a taxi.
"Time to go meet some boys," she chuckles as a taxi stops and she opens the door.
"Is that ever an option," I chuckle closing the car door behind me.
