The Boys

Two small boys innocent and young,
Their precious lives have just begun.
What will they do? Who will they be?
So many experiences for them to see.

As they grow they discover new skills,
One towards sports and lots of thrills.
The other is passionate about quieter things,
Music and friendships are the tunes he sings.

They start exploring the vast open skies,
With much exploration and fresh open eyes.
They travel to deserts, they travel across seas,
To discover new cultures and their hopeful pleas.

Over the years they learn about their past.
Their Australian father with a love to last,
Their American mother who grew up overseas, both sharing stories and sweet memories.

As each day unfolds before their eyes,
They start to appreciate and realize,
They are more than brothers, more than twins,
They are unique, no matter who wins.

One boy is Ben, the other is me,
We both have grasps on who we want to be.
We look to the future and what lies ahead,
Creating a story that will be said.
