Dear Diem,
My crush on you was for the majority of freshman year of highschool. We were in the same advisory, and had five classes together. You were athletic, playing football and tennis. In fact, when I said I was thinking about playing spring football, it was your enthusiasm that ultimately made me decide to do it. While i very much enjoyed it, and it allowed me to spend time with you, I can't think of football without thinking of you.
A lot of people think people who play sports can't be smart, but you proved them wrong. You were in all honors classes, and got steady As. You were inspiration to me to do better in school, and I very much benefited from that, so thank you.
Not only are you smart and athletic, you're also beautiful, and while as the cliche goes, even if you don't see it in yourself. I honestly don't know why everyone in that school didn't have a crush on you as severely as I did. You cared about your friends, were funny, and stuck to all your decisions.
I never told you how I felt, and while I'll have more chances to this year, I wont. You're straight, and even if you were gay, if I were with you I would constantly feel like I could never measure up to how amazing you are. Simple as that. Please know how much I admire you, and that I think you are one of the best people I have ever met.
Sincerely,
me.
