LizBeth:
He didn't know what to do with me. I could tell by the way he was glancing at me every time that I wasn't paying attention. I was, but not through my eyes, through his, or Donna's. But, instead, he was also trying to keep going, make Donna, Shiny, happy. Almost killing us in the process.
"Set the controls to random." He told us as I stayed sat up on my bunk, mind letting me still be by his side. My brother was the only reason I was still here, I'd make sure he was never alone. "Mystery tour. Outside that door could be any planet, anywhere, anywhen in the whole un-" Now he saw that Shiny was about to pee herself. "Are you alright?"
Her eyes were wide as I hugged my arms around myself, both in astral form, and physical. "Terrified. I mean, history's one thing, but an alien planet?"
"I could always take you home."
"Yeah, don't laugh at me. Besides, you'd completely neglect your poor sisters fashion if I wasn't here. Red does not suit her, beyond her hair." He liked me in red...
The Doctor rolled his eyes, but was grinning as I went back to my body, curling up smaller on the thin foam mattress. "We know what that's like. Everything you're feeling right now. The fear, the joy, the wonder? We get that, or at least Remember used to. I'm trying to remind her." I still felt it. I was just... His. I was supposed to be with him.
Shiny seemed surprised as he came over to me, offering me his hand to come down. All I wanted to do was sleep, and Wander, and just pretend that I wasn't real for a little while. "Seriously? After all this time?"
"Yeah. Why do you think I kept going, even before I found Remembrance?"
His friend smiled as I took it after a moment and came down. "Oh, alright then, you two and me three. This is barmy. I was born in Chiswick. I've only ever had package holidays. Now I'm here. This is so. I meant it's. I don't know, it's all sort of. I don't even know what the word is." And went outside, closely followed by myself and my brother. "Oh, I've got the word. Freezing."
Silently I agreed, wrapping my thin jacket further around myself, only a hoodie, as he got excited. "Snow! Oh, real snow. Proper snow at last. That's more like it. Lovely. What do you think, Sister?" I told him with a look, but he was still grinning. "Look at that view."
Massive icicles hung from bridges of rock, dangling on the edge of an abyssal deep ravine. "Yep." Shiny agreed with a nod. "Beautiful, cold view."
Then went back inside as he got all fanboy regarding it. "Millions of planets, millions of galaxies, and we're on this one. Molto bene. Bellissimo, says Donna, born in Chiswick. All you've got is a life of work and sleep and telly and rent and tax and takeaway dinners, all birthdays and Christmases and 2 weeks holiday a year, and then you end up here. Donna Noble, citizen of the Earth, standing on a different planet. How about that, Donna?" He finally realised that she had vanished. "Donna?"
Now came back out in a big fur coat that had a hood. "Sorry, you were saying? Remy, I grabbed you one, this is far more your colour."
Shiny handed me a dark emerald green coat, nice and thick in my exact size. Green... My favourite colours were purple and green. I hated red. "Better?"
"Lovely, thanks."
"Comfy?"
"Yep."
"Can you hear anything inside that?"
She gave him a wry look. "Pardon." And saw me just holding the coat. "Remy, you alright? I can go get a different one if you don't like it." I looked at my brother, tears in my eyes as I desperately wanted to say thank you to Shiny, because she was always so nice to me when I didn't deserve it. "Hey, it's okay. Doctor, is she alright?"
