Chapter 2: Where Are We?

When I woke up, I found myself on a sidewalk and my head hurting. When my head stopped hurting, I looked around and found my friends around me starting to wake up as well. Then I saw a cute little puppy.

"Awww, look at the cute little puppy," Ashley said and walked over to the puppy then started to pet it and cooing at it.

"STOP IT YOU OLD LADY!" a voice said.

"Who said that?" Katie said, and we all looked around confused.

"Down here stupid lady, the puppy!" the voice said again. We all looked towards the puppy.

"Was that you?" Ashley asked the puppy in a baby voice and petting his head.

"Yes, and I told you to stop that!" the puppy said and then bit Ashley.

"Ow! Why did you bite me!" Ashley yelled.

"You're annoying," the puppy said annoyed. Then Katie got mad and ran up to the puppy and kicked it as hard as she could.

"That's what you get for hurting and being rude to my friend!" Katie yelled after the puppy that was still flying in the air. It landed really far away and then there was an explosion were the puppy landed.

"Man, I didn't know the puppy would blow up! Oh well," Katie said. Then a bird flew towards us and landed on my shoulder.

"I suppose you talk too?" I asked the bird in a joking manner not expecting it to talk.

"Yes, how did you know?" the bird said and then I screamed and pushed the bird of my shoulder.

"Do all animals talk around here?" Ashley asked as I calmed down from my freak out.

"No just me and this mean puppy that hates everyone," the bird said as she landed on Ashley's shoulder.

"Well, I think Katie killed that puppy by kicking it over there and then it exploded," Ashley explained.

"Wow, nice kick," the bird complemented Katie.

"Thank you, and I'm Katie by-the-way," Katie said.

"So, what's your name little birdie?" Ashley asked.

"Micayla, and don't call me 'little birdie'," the bird said.

"Ok, sorry. I'm Ashley by the way," Ashley said.

"Hi Ashley, and what is your name," Micayla said.

"I'm Lynne and sorry about pushing you of my shoulder. You scared me when you answered my question. I wasn't expecting one," I said.

"It's ok, most people don't expect me to answer ether," Micayla said.

"Wait, there are other people here?" Katie asked.

"Well, I don't know. Some people got out, some people will get out at some point, and others are stuck here forever," Micayla said.

"Do you know where anyone could be?" Katie asked Micayla.

"No, they move around, trying to do what they have to, to get out of this place. I just go up to some people and help however I can," Micayla said.

"Ok, so will we see you again after you leave us?" Ashley asked.

"It's possible, but I only find people when they first arrive and when they need of some help or they are in trouble, also when they need something," Micayla said.

"Then I hope we need a lot of help to get out of here because you are an awesome bird Micayla!" Katie said.

"Well, you guys are an awesome group of friends, oh and by the way there might be a mechanical bird that talks and acts like me but it is an evil bird just to let you know," Micayla said.

"Then we need to come up with a signal word that you can say or do to let us know it's the real you, like orange," Katie said.

"That's a grate idea, but let's not use orange... instead let's use... bird as the word," I said.

"That's perfect!" Katie said.

"I agree, what about you Micayla?" Ashley said.

"I think it's terrific," Micayla said.

"So it's all agreed that bird is the word?" Katie asked.

"Yes," we all said at once.

"Ok, ok, I was just making sure," Katie said.

"Alright, is there anything els we need to know?" Katie asked Micayla.

"Not that I can think of at the moment," Micayla answered.

"Does that mean that your done helping us and half to go?" Ashley asked.

"Yes, I'm afraid so. I'll see you guys later when you need my help again, bye," Micayla said as she flew away.

"Bye," we all said at the same time waving bye to Micayla.
