I won’t wait my whole life for a husband to come and get me. My cousin left her mother’s house by having a baby, but I don't want to go that way either. I want things all my own, I want to pick and choose. I have pretty hair and it's easy to talk this way if you are pretty.
My mother says when I get older My hair will not be as beautiful as it is now and my clothes won’t always be so nice, but I’ve decided I don’t want to grow up tame like the others. I will be like the beautiful and cruel ones. I will be the rebel, smart-mouthed, fiery redhead that ends up winning the war that nobody else could. My war has already started. Quiet. Alright. I am and will be the one who leaves before everybody else and doesn't come back, without saying goodbye.
