READ THE ANNOUNCEMENT BELOW FIRST.

Most of you have been leaving excellent feedback on each other's works. However, I've seen some that take the 3 sentence-review very literal. Nobody wants to receive a book club comment like (I'm exaggerating)

This is an excellent story. Your main character is interesting. I like it.

I could write this comment below any of your books without even reading it. And that's a shame.

So when rules get abused, it's time to change them. From now on, every chapter should have at least either one 100-word review OR several smaller in-line comments plus a review that combined add up to at least 100 words (e.g. three 10-word inline comments and a 70-word review)

The chapter review is always mandatory and should ALWAYS be at least 40 words, regardless of the amount of in-line comments you left. It should show that you have read the chapter.

But I wrote this excellent comment and it's only 90 words. Will I get kicked out of the club now?

No, the 100 words is a guideline. If you manage to adequately review a story in 80 or 90 words, that's perfectly fine. But if it's only 60... think about something else to say about the chapter, or write a couple of meaningful in-line comments.

But... I don't know what else to say? I've already said it all.

What did you like? What didn't you like? What do you think about the characters? Was there anything that intrigued you, or confused you? Is there anything you learnt about writing while reading this chapter?

Your in-line comments don't necessarily have to be a review. It can just be you reacting to a certain scene: e.g. Oh, wow, it's so cool that she always gets A's in math. She should be my tutor.

For more information, please check out the chapter on "How to write helpful feedback"

And no worries. Most of you already write 100+ word reviews or the equivalent in in-line comments plus review. But if you have any questions or are stuck writing your review, don't hesitate to reach out.

Now for the order of the day :)
