In the previous chapter. . .

Sighing, she walked forward.

"Let's get this over with."

Now we continue.

'I'm so going to kill Krasis.' Annalise thought as she looked around the barren mansion that supposedly belonged to Raizel, yet she highly doubted it.

'There's no one here!'

Just as all hope was lost, her eyes landed on a open door and, curious by nature, she stepped through.

In her peripheral vision came the form of Raizel looking out the window, turning his head at the presence of the female.

Ignoring his questioning face, Annalise fell onto one of the couches present in the room with an audible 'thud'.

"It was a pain in the ass to find you, you know that?" She said, yet it came out muffled for her face was glued to the soft material of the couch.

With an amused huff, Raizel turned his face back to the window through which the peaks of the trees were visible.

"You don't get out much, do you Rai-Rai?" She asked, seating herself properly.

Raising an eyebrow to the newfound nickname, the Noblesse shook his head to her question.

"It was kind of obvious actually." She smirked. Looking down at her lap, where her fingers were intertwined, she softly asked, "Can I stay here with you?"

He was quiet for a moment, something she understood, yet her amber eyes never left his crimson pools.

"You may." He finally responded.

"Thank you, Raizel." She smiled, a genuine one, clearly happy to stay with a known person.

Days went by as Annalise stayed at Raizel's house, where she made herself comfortable in one of the spare rooms, but despite that, most of the time she would fall asleep on the couch, tired from talking to Raizel.

"Hey, Rai?" She asked as night fell over the trees.

"What is it?"

She smiled, hearing him ask back. "I'm glad you keep talking more and more to me."

"Is that all?"

"No." She hugged her knees to her chest, burying her face in then for a moment. "Do you remember what I said the night you brought me here? About the two sides of me?"

He nodded his head, curious to hear what she had to say. Ever since she began living with him, he could freely admit that she made him happier with all of her late night talking about random subjects and her occasional carefree attitude.

"It's been fifty years since this cursed power awakened, fifty years of training myself to control it and fifty years in which I tried to stay as far away from other humans. Every time I was in a village to sell what I hunted or to buy supplies, I always felt a pull in myself, to lash out and kill everything that moved." She smiled sadly.

"It's as though I'm chained to it, the dark side dragging my good one down to hell with it and I... just go along with it."

Raizel just looked at her neutral face, nothing going past her eyes as she stared at the oak table in front of the couch.

"Welp! I'm going to make some tea."  With that, she jumped to her feet and walked out skipping happily.

Watching her go, Raizel suddenly asked himself 'How does she feel about staying here?' Of course, she seemed happy, yet in the time the noble got to know the amber eyed girl, he learned that her ability of masking her emotions was very vast.

He wanted her to feel free, not as if she needed to remain by his side, after all, she was a free spirit.

The more thought he gave the matter, the more Raizel wished her to leave, but that lead to the thought 'What will happen if she leaves?' Surely, things will go back to the way they were. But he felt as though his solitary life wouldn't be the same.

He confided in her more than he had in his own late brother - and that said quite a lot, seeing as he held an unlimited amount of respect for him.

But could his respect for his brother be even compared to the lively atmosphere she was bringing him?

Without being abel to finish that thought, Annalise returned carrying a silver tray on which were placed two cups and a steaming kettle.

"It's keemun tea." She smiled. "In the human world is known for its sophisticated refined orchid-like aroma and subtle notes of dark chocolate. I thought it was fitting to warm us up."

(A/N: This is actually a real type of tea, and one of my favorites. In a family where everyone drinks coffee, I drink tea lol)

Raizel didn't reply. Not even a nod, thing that made Annalise shoot worried looks in his direction.

"Rai? Are you alright?"

No response.

"Come on, you're freaking me out. What's wrong?"

He finally looked in her eyes, but what she saw in there made her eyebrows knit together.

"I am alright." Even the tone in his voice was different.

Putting the tray down, she stomped her way to him, stopping when she was face to face so that she could see his eyes.

"You are most definitely not alright." Annalise firmly stated. "Now, tell me what's going on."

"You have to leave." He immediately responded.

Knowing full well that those words had a double meaning, she stared deeper into his red pools and found what she was looking for.

"You don't want me to leave, do you?"

Raizel just let out an amused huff. She could see through him like glass.

The raven haired girl smiled. "You feel as though you're binding me to stay here for the sheer reason that I know you. Just so it's clear, I'm not letting you return to that isolated life of yours."

He raised one eyebrow.

"Don't wander how I know that. Me and the Lord talk quite often."

But that worried him. 'What has that man put inside her innocent mind?' He wished to know, but not really at the same time.

Does that make sense?

"If you're worried about me, don't be. I can take care of myself." She puffed out her chest.

"Do you now?" He slightly smirked.

That triggered her, making Annalise scold him about how to properly treat a lady, to which Raizel simply brushed off with a smirk and a flick of her forehead.

That night was their serendipity, but it was not long to last, for the next day brought trouble to Lukedonia.

Trouble going by the name Frankenstein.

To be continued. . .
