Cassandra looked at Terran and shook her head.
"I knew she wasn't okay", she said, blaming the faint on the earlier occurrences.
She looked to the corner of the room and noticed a decent sized, wooden box on the ground.
She sidestepped a few times a couched down near the box.
Looking at her best friend, she decided that it wouldn't be a big deal if she looked.
She placed a shaking hand on the top of the box and snaked her fingers around the edges of the lid.
Pulling slightly, Cassandra listened to the quiet pop noise it made.
When she looked down inside the box, the first things she noticed were the two pieces of paper laying on the top.
She picked up the first paper and unfolded it, hoping that Terran would be okay with her curiosity.
She saw it was a letter but couldn't figure out who it was from.
Hey baby girl, good morning. When you wake up i won't be home. Don't worry though, I'm just at the store. Daddy is at work so you will be alone for an hour or two. If you get hungry there are pancakes in the microwave and i left the syrup on the counter for you. Don't answer the door for anyone and if someone calls tell them I'm home but I'm in the shower so no one knows you're alone. Please make sure to feed Skull and give him lots of love.
Love Mommy.
Cassandra stared at the paper as she realized who the loving letter was from.
She felt a tear escape from her eye as she thought of what Terran goes through.
Wiping the tear away, she placed the paper on the ground next to her and grabbed the next one.
Dear Terran,
I know this is hard for you, and i know how you feel, trust me. I'm writing this letter so when you get older you can remember to be strong. I know it's a little silly to write a letter to your future self, but this may help later on. Just know that as soon as you turn 18 you'll be out of that place and with someone you love. Stay strong, you're going to be okay, i know it.
Sincerely, Your Past Self.
She sat in silence as she stared blankly at the words on the wrinkled paper.
She looked down at the box noticed a small rectangle of paper sitting on top of a light purple, diamond shaped perfume bottle.
Flipping the paper over, she settled down on her knees and and began reading it.
Good afternoon sunshine. I tried making lunch for you but i didn't do it quite right so mommy said i can write the note. What you have is a chocolate pudding cup( your favorite), sliced apples, grape juice, and a ham and cheese sandwich. Enjoy your lunch and I'll see you when i pick you up from school. Have a good rest of the day and don't give the teachers any trouble.
Love Daddy.
"Ha, that's when he actually loved me. He was a good guy back then", Terran said settling down next to Cassandra and picked up the papers that were next to her.
"Terr! I'm sorry i didn't see you there", she paused and thought about what she was doing, "and I'm sorry for going through this. I just got really curio..."
