Chapter 5

"It's your mum..... " He says. "My mom? " I ask. "She wants you. " He says tear bridging his eyes again. "I don't even know her! " I say. "Well she found you and she wants you. " He says wiping his eyes. "I don't want to leave you, we can fight against it right? " I ask. " Were going to but It's gonna be one hell of a fight! " He says.

We get home and we sit down with Uncle Sam and Harry after they had put patty to sleep. "So here's the files. " Sam says placing them in front of dad. "And here's how we can fight it! " He said sliding over a single piece of paper. "All we have is the adoption papers, she doesn't have a birth certificate! " Harry says. "How the hell are we gonna fight with adoption papers! " Dad yells getting frustrated. They all start to talk as I sit back and watch them passing papers back and forward. "How do we even know she's my mom? " I ask. "Wait say that again!" Dad say turning towards me. "How do we even know she's my mom? " I say confused. "That's it! " "We don't know she has no proof she's your mom! For all we know she can just be some random woman who wanted a kid!" He says standing up and pacing back and forward, something he dose when he's thinking! "So what do we do? " Harry ask. "We request a DNA test! " Dad explains. "What if she denies? " Sam ask. "If shes Sophia's mom then what harm would a stupid DNA test do!? " Dad says. "Sophia your a genius! " He says. "But you're the one who came up with the plan. " I say. He just smiles as he sits back down and once again starts going through the files!

At lunch

Once again we ate lunch in Mr. Perez's room. I sat there picking at my food. "Are you okay? " Jack ask. "I'm fine! " "Alright in a girl dictionary fine means bad! What's wrong?" He ask. "My 'mom' wants me. But the problem is I don't even know her and I don't want to leave my dad! " I say leaning my head on his shoulder. "Oh wow.. " Jack says taken back a bit. "That's terrible! " He says as he wraps his arm around me. "Never mind that, how's your day going Mr. Perez? " I ask him. "Well the Griers are quit the character! " He say chuckling. "Oh no what did they do this time? " Jack ask. "Hayes shoved his jacket up his shirt and yelled that he grew and I quote, 'Chi chis ' then Nash yelled free blow jobs. " He says. "Those two are idiots! " I say.

"So we requested a DNA test. " Dad says. As he scrimmages through papers and files. "Hey dad I have a... " "Oh and I also found this! " He says sliding over a paper. "No mother on the birth certificate so technically she can't take you if your not legally hers!" He says. I just nod. "So I ha.... " "This is great! " He says. I just smile.

The game

I put my cap on and look myself up and down! "You got this! " I tell myself. I walk out and look at the crowd and there he was front row cheering me on. I walk up to the plate and dig my foot into the ground and adjust my cap. I tap my bat on the floor indicating I was ready. The pitcher nods as she pulls her hand back and through the ball. I count down the seconds before swinging. The ball fly's down the field and I take off running to 2nd base. Kaitlyn goes next and I run to home. Soon it was my turn to pitch. The batter nodded and I twist the ball in my hand pull it back and through a fast ball at her, she swings and misses. We continue this until she strikes out.

After game

"Great job! " He yells running towards me. "Thanks Sprayberry! " I say pulling my cap off. "Great job! " Mr.Perez says walking up to us. "Thank you Mr. Perez! " I say. "I'll see you tomorrow. " Mr. Perez and Sprayberry say as they both leave. I sit and wait for dad to pick me up before deciding to walk home. I start to walk home, alone, in the dark, when I here my name called. "Sophia! " "Mr.Frantzich? " I ask not able to fully see. "Do you need a ride? " He ask. "Yes please! " I say. He opens his passenger door and I slowly climb in. "Thank you Mr.Frantzich! " I say. "Please call me Jonah, or Marais! " He says. "Thank you Mr. Marais! " I say. "It's no problem!" He says with a warm smile. He starts driving down the street making turns here and there."I can go from here. " I say. "Are you sure? " He ask. "Yeah I live right down this street! Thank you! " I say stepping out of the car. "Anytime! " He says. He drives off and I walk the rest of the way! I walk in to see Dad, and Uncle Sam and Harry asleep with files surrounding them. I walk over and start to stack the files. I pull one out from under dad and see it was a DNA test result. "Sophia? " Dad say sitting up. "Oh Shoot I missed your game! " He says looking sad. "I'm so sorry. " "Dad it's okay, but what this? " I ask. "Oh it's DNA test results, there's no way she's your mum the DNA doesn't even match! " He says wrapping his arms around me. "I love you! " I say. "I love you too! " He says kissing the top of my head. "Well let's wake up the twins. " He says. We both give each other a look before we both yell in unison, "SAM! " "HARRY! " They both jump up and grab there ears. "Bloody hell! " Sam says. "Wake up. " Dad says. "What the fu..... Fudge... " Harry says shoving dad. "Love you! " I say giving him a big smile. "Love you too! " Sam says picking me up upside down. "Put me down! " I yell with laughter. "Why? " He ask shaking me. "Sammmmm! " I say laughing. He puts me down and I stand up! "You are so..." I was interrupted by a loud crash!
