Hi my names Devan Thompson. I'm eighteen and I live in saginaw michigan. I play guitar. Yes I know woah a girl guitarist.

I'm not prone to fall in love easily and I'm pretty hard headed.

My favorite bands are 5seconds of summer, all time low, one direction, pierce the veil, sleeping with sirens, ed sheeran, and Aerosmith. Big variety I know.

Nobody knows I like 5sos and one direction and I plan to keep it that way.

I parked my car and got out to get my guitar from the back. I came to guitar center cause my strings have been bothering me so much. I need to get them restrung or I might hurt somebody. When I walked through the door I went straight to the corner. "Hey Mike you think you could string me up quick?" Yea were on a first name basis. What? I come here a lot.

"Yea sure thing. Just take it out and throw it up on the counter here. Same as last time?"

"Yup" I said and popped the p. as soon as I said that I started to take the path I'm all to familiar with until Mike called my name.

"Hey Devan we got a new shipment in the back there. Oh and we got a job open if you want an app."

" Yea. I'll go check 'em out and then come back for the app when your done."

I kept walking straight to the double doors and inside. Walls and walls filled with acoustic guitars. This is literally heaven for me. I saw the new shipment in the corner and decided to check them out. "Hey they finally got the matte black Martin" I laughed to myself.

"Yea they're pretty nice aren't they?" Someone said from behind me. I jumped. I could've sworn I was here alone. " Shit! What the fuck you can't just sneak up on-" when I turned around I saw luke hemmings. THE LUKE HEMMINGS!! Calm Devan calm. I immediately changed my face from shocked to normal. "Um hi?"

"Hey so you play guitar?" He said with a smug look on his face.

"Yea I do. Is that an issue?" I said sassily. I took a step closer to him. I was gonna act like a badass. Oh yea.

His cocky smile dropped and he looked taken back. " uh um no. No not at all I was just-"

" it's okay. Haha. Don't act so scared." I laughed. he looked confused and then started laughing with me. " you should have seen you face!" I couldn't stop laughing. " aha yea" he said and awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.

" oh sorry haha I didn't mean to be mean I just-"

"Hey man your guitars ready up here" mike came in and interrupted us. "Oh yea thanks man" luke said and followed mike out of the room after he said bye to me. Sigh. We could've had babies together. Oh well, now that he's gone I'm gonna try out this guitar.

I turned around and picked up the Martin I was looking at before and sat down on a stool that was next to me. I started strumming the chords I learned years ago. After a couple seconds I started singing. "If someone said three years from now you'd be long gone, I'd stand up and punch them out cause they're all wrong. I knew better when you said forever and ever. Who knew" I stopped because the song really hits home with me.

When I was 17 my boyfriend, David, of 4 years died in a freak train accident. He was on his way home from Chicago and someone pushed him onto the rail right before a train came.

I felt a tear on my cheek and I quickly wiped it off and stood up. I don't cry. I'm supposed to be tough. When I turned around Ashton Irwin was standing there staring at me in disbelief. "Wow your really really good. You should go in a band or something!"

"Um thanks. Ha. I don't sing though." I said. Me and David used to be in a band together and after he died I vowed that I would never try to do anything with music again.

" what do you mean you don't sing? I just heard you" he looked at me skeptically.

" no you didn't that wasn't me. " I said quickly. Really Devan that's all you could come up with? Ashton looked at me like I was crazy and then looked around.

"well there's no one in the room but you" fuck I shouldn't have said that it wasn't me what was I thinking?

" just drop it okay" I snapped. Ashton looked at me with genuinely caring eyes. " what's wrong. Did something happen?"

Yea something did fucking happened my boyfriend died in a train accident and I vowed to never sing again. "No just please drop it" I begged him.

" okay. So you gonna buy that?" He pointed to the guitar I still had in my hand. " oh um no I can't afford it right now. I can barely afford my rent haha" I laughed.

"Well I can get it for you" he said and smiled so big it practically covered his face. Wait he was serious?

"no you can't do that I don't even know your name." Smooth play it off like you have no clue who they are. "Okay. The names Ashton by the-" he stopped when Mike walked in. What's up with him always interrupting everyone?

"Guitars ready Devan and I got the app up here too"

" k thanks mike"

"You know him by name?" Ashton asked

"Yea I come here a lot haha. We'll see ya drummer boy"

I went to reach for the door and walked out. I need to stop acting like a little girl and stop crying every time I sing that song. I grabbed Jasey off the counter. I named my guitar after my favorite song, Jasey rae by all time low.

I put her back in her case and went to the check out.

$10.50. Okay I should have that. I grabbed the money And looked up at mike but he was watching something from behind me. I turned around and there's luke and Michael wrestling, calum videotaping, and Ashton laughing his ass off. Wow they're being weirder then that one video when michael luke and calum were all grinding on eachother. I turned back around and handed him the money. He did his little type-y stuff on the cash register,I've always admired how fast they can do it haha, then handed me my change and an app.

"See ya" he chimed. I walked back out the door and to my crappy BMW sitting in the parking lot. I put Jasey in the back and started the car. Wow it's been a weird day...

So this my first book so if it's not good it's because of that. I'll try to make the chapters longer but for now here it is. It won't be super fast updating either.
