The door creaked ever so loudly behind him as he closed it, wincing at the sound, hoping he wouldn't wake any family members. Running away from home was something he had wanted to do forever now.

Stepping away from the door, he tightened the strap of the scabbard around his shoulder and started to walk. The buckles on his boats made a clicking noise as he trudged through the tall grass until he stopped at the barn door, pushing it open.

He stepped inside onto the stray hay on the ground. Past the hay bales there were three wooden stalls, each held a beautiful horse. Shadowmere, Chastity, and Cobalt, the three horses that belonged to the Crane family.

He thought of which horse to take, each of them had their own flaws. Shadowmere was barn sour, which meant that she did not like to leave the barn, and a bit rogue. Chastity was still a foal. And Cobalt was a Filly, she was just over three years old.

To Bean, Cobalt seemed like the best decision. Cobalt was also bomb-proof, which meant that she was a horse that didn't spook.

Bean decided that he was to take Cobalt. He attached the bridle to her head, and then the saddle to the back of the beautiful horse.

He grabbed onto the horn of the saddle, pulling himself onto the horse, and grabbed the reins. He dug his feet into the stirrup and hit the horse lightly once with the riding crop, and off she went.

Without bothering to close the barn doors Bean and Cobalt galloped not too far from his old home, and towards the Forest.

Once they got to the edge of the Forest, or as Bean thought of it, the beginning of his new life, Bean took one last glance at his old home. Raising his hand to his forehead, he saluted to the house as a goodbye, and turned back around.

"Alright Cobalt, off we go." He sighed. The horse bucked over the old wooden fence covered in moss, and into the green trees of the Forest.
