"I said decaf! How many god damn times do I have to repeat the exact same thing, for you to get it through your thick skull that I want decaf!"

"Would you please stop yelling at me Ma'am or else I'm going to need to ask you to leave." I politely spoke to the customer, even though I wanted nothing more than to scream back at this cranky old lady.

"Incompetent little witch...." I heard the lady mumble as she stepped to the side and waited for her order.

I turned around to make her coffee, decaf of course. My eyes drifted to the clock about the coffee machine. 9:45. Shit, I thought to myself, I needed to leave now to make it to class on time.

I quickly got the coffee ready and handed it to the lady impatiently waiting. With a big fake grin on my face.

"Finally." She huffed.

"Your welcome." I smiled, I turned around ready to hang up my apron and run out the door.

"Excuse me, I've been waiting for five minutes now to get my order taken." A male voice rose from the cash.

"I'm off the clock actually." I looked to see that Bethany, the girl who's shift started after mine, hadn't arrived yet. Leaving me to take care of this customer.

I sighed and turned back to the cash, "What can I get you?" I looked up from the till to land on possibly the deepest blue eyes I had ever seen. Which were staring very rudely at my breasts.

After the customer not adverting his eyes after a few seconds to many I cleared my throat. "What can I get you?"

"Do you believe in destiny?" The young man before me asked.

"Do I believe in what?"

"Destiny, you know like being at the right place at the right moment?" He batted his big blue eyes at me and gave me a darling half smile. Which I'm sure was the key to many girls hearts.

"No, I don't. But may I please take your order?"

"You don't believe in destiny?" The boy asked, clearly shocked. "How can you not believe in destiny?"

I let out a frustrated sigh, "Because why believe in something that isn't solid and stable. Now may I please take your order."

Surprise was written all over this strangers face, why it mattered to him whether I believed in destiny or not, I did not know. But I did know that I needed to leave and that this customer was getting on my last nerves.

"I came in for instructions actually. How do you get to," He rummaged through his jean pockets for a moment before pulling out a piece of paper. " St. Anne's high school."

Bloody hell, I thought to myself. "Go down this street, and then at the very end take a right. Two blocks after that take another right and you're there. It's about a five minute car ride and fifteen minute walk. Now if you would excuse me I need to get headed there."

I through off my apron and packed up my bags. "Barbe I'm leaving now." I yelled back to my boss.

"See ya Jade! Better hurry to school." She yelled back.

"Are you walking or driving to the school?" The young man asked me, he matched his strides to mine as I left the café.

"If you must know, I'm walking."

"Well, as it just so happens, I'm walking as well. Do you mind if I walk with you?"

I sighed, "Yea sure, just pick up your pace. I'm already late enough."

"Thank you," He said, flashing me a full smile this time, one that caused butterfly's in my stomach. "I'm Emmet by the way, Emmet Schmidt."

"Jade Luck." I said, smiling to the boy, Emmet.

"So you your last names luck, but you won't believe in destiny?" Emmet pestered.

"Luck and destiny are two different things."
